I was banded on 5/9/08 so I am 3 weeks post op today. For some reason I haven't been able to sleep the past 2 weeks. I toss and turn all night. I don't know if this is hormonal, more energy, lack of carbs or what. I also haven't lost any weight in the last week and a half. Anyone else experiencing this?

I was banded on 5-16, I had a rough time sleeping for the first 2 weeks after surgery so they had me keep taking my pain pills only at night to sleep. Now that I feel like I have more energy I'm going to start walking at night before bed hopefully that will help me. As far as the weight loss, are you drinking milk or eating anything with dairy? I'm not sure what your DR's diet was, but I am not allowed to have any dairy at all, I guess when you drink milk or have dairy you dont lose weight.

I haven't been having any dairy...even though I am supposed to be having protien drinks in between meals but with the pre-op diet...I got so sick of them. I have been exercising in the mornings except for yesterday I went when I got home from work and it still didn't help with the sleeping. Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm right there with you. I was banded on 5/14 and haven't slept much since. I toss and turn all night as well. I have been exercising daily and struggling to get in 600 calories a day. I've been on Protein Drinks, non-fat yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, etc. I'm not having a problem getting in enough Protein but I'm worried I'm going to go into starvation mode and stop losing weight. I've lost about 20 pounds since May 1st when I started the pre-op diet. I just wish I could sleep! I think a lot of it is that I can't get comfortable. My incisions are healing fine but they are very sore. I can't lay on either side. Have to stay on my back and I'm not a back sleeper. I'm sure it will get better eventually. So the bottom line is no, you are not alone.
