Just wondering...

How often should we have blood work to ensure us that our body is getting enough of all the nutrients??? yearly??? every 6 months???? never???

Paula,

My PCP has me do it every 4 months, as a matter of fact I'm going in this morning for some blood work. It was back in December I had my last one. I like to have it done for my own peace of mind :)

I've never heard of getting this done up until now. What is the name of the test, and what does it exactly check for? I'm probably going to need to get it done at least before trying for a baby.

Thanks for the info! I'm always up for staying on top of my health!

I get mine done every 6 months just because of an enlarged liver. My pcp likes to keep check on it. Had blood work done a couple of weeks ago and all my bad numbers went down and my good cholesterol went up.

I've so far had it done at one year out and will again at two years. My annual physical involves blood work, so I'm going to get a printout from my surgeon to give to my PCP for future reference. That way I know all the various things that need checking will be checked every year.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
