Good morning to you all!! Thank you for all the congratulations (I needed them). Yesterday I went for a speed walk for 2.5 miles and was fine and it felt good until the afternoon then had to take some Tylenol(it did the job). It is good to shake up the routine, right? What does our exercise cop think?

Julie and Charlene sounds like your both are on the mend!!!:glare:

Best wishes, Holly

LOL Holly... Congrats on bumping it up :)

What hurt ???

Even now my mind says I can't do something - like jog - but you know what my body can (not for miles but for a song or 2 on my ipod) it's because I have never jogged in my life - I think I can't - but if you try - you find out that you can...

It felt like I had a baby yesterday. I’m thinking next time I do that I will wear spandex for support.

Best wishes, Holly

Hello everyone. Well I went to the doctor today and I was only down 2lbs. He went a ahead and removed all 5 cc's from my band had me sit up and while I was drinking Water he was refilling my band until I got to comfortable level it was pretty amazing. I now have 6.5 cc in my band and am going to be on full liquids the rest of the day and mushys tomorrow. Dr. Coon is an amazing doctor and makes you feel like you are his only patient. Everyone in the office is very supportive and very helpful. Well I am off to care for my Mom.

Janet where are you heading to see you son for Easter? Have a great time.

Well I just got home from my slight unfill. It was more than I'd like. She took out a full .50 cc. My last fill was only .25 so it was my whole last fill and part of the one before that in Dec. I'm so scared of gaining. I know I know I've been freaking out a lot lately about my slowed down progress. But I hope it does the trick for the reflux. I felt fine all day but would get a little at night. Time will tell. She may give me part of it back in a couple weeks, seeing how I do first.

I am going to speak at this months surgery seminar I think. April marks the one year mark for me and when I went to my seminar for surgery. DH will be gone that morning so I think I might do it.

Apples I PM'd you for that photo! Anxious to see it.

Rose congrats on your loss and your exercise!

Julie glad you are feeling a tad better.

Nope, Janet, didn't get out of the KP duties today. No reprieve this time of the year. Was up at 4:30 making the noon meal and Breakfast so that I could be gone today. Everything was made and in the 8 quart slow cooker by 7am. Peeled 5lbs of potatoes, cubed ham for scalloped potatoes, made cinnamon bread (3 loaves) and peach cheesecake for dessert. No complaints from the guys when I got home about 4pm. In fact, their tummys were still stretched!

Feeling so much better about everything and the weight I am at now after my doc visit yesterday. I can tell you all that I was mystified by my sudden weight loss of 14lbs at the end of Jan. Worries were going through my head that something was drastically wrong. Nope...got all checked out and just metabolism in high gear. So...looks like 2500 cals will be on the menu for awhile. See, Long, plateaus can be broken. Hang in there. You are doing so great!

Gotta go get supper on the table. I can hear the marching coming from the shop to the house! Then computer guy is coming to set us up with new computer. Everyone have a great evening and thanks to all for the compliments on the "Old Lady" photos!

Hi everyone

Julie I am glad you are doing better. I am still on liquids today and I am STARVING:angry:!! I am hoping once I move on the solids that I can feel this fill. I think I can eat soft foods tomorrow and solids by tomorrow night. Boy this is tough.

My sister is coming for the weekend and I am looking forward to spending time with her.

I hope everyone has a good Easter and travel safely!

Claudine - I was suppose to go on post op diet after a fill week full liquids week mushie - week soft and then finally week 4 reall food - we being the non-conformist that I am - that didn't work - I did Soup for 2 days then soft mushies for 3 days then reg food..

I make homemade Soups - make a pot of Beans (pinto or navy) whatever you like - after the Beans have cooked scoop them out and put them in the blender with a little of the broth - blend them real well - add that mixture back to your bean juice - whalla - cream of bean Soup and it's delicious

Have a great time with you Sister - I will be seeing mine to this weekend..

Good Morning Gang !!!

It may be Thursday - but since I have tomorrow off - It's Friday for me and I feel really good - I love Fridays !!!

How is everyone today?? Who has plans this weekend ??

As you all know I will be out of town visiting DS & Family and here's a thought I want all of us to keep in mind this weekend

What's Easter about ??? It's not about the Easter Bunny and all those choc bunnies - peeps - jelly Beans - the real meaning is Jesus dying on the cross for us - so - when you are tempted to eat that 2nds hand full of jelly beans - or those few robin eggs - think !!!! Stick with the hard boiled eggs !!! remember Protein 1st !!! It's ok to have one or 2 little candies this weekend - I know that I will - but not to chow down on the candy that will be in our faces - think of that candy as the devil (and it really is) - It may make it easier to say no - if you look at it and see the serpent - or that little red man with horns sticking out..

Ok I gotta get some work done - just my usual morning check in ... CBL:tongue:

Amen! And if any of you are bored this weekend come to Pearland, Tx and help my church with the 20,000 egg drop from a Helicopter. It will be at the high school stadium. We expect 5,000 kids........so we can use the help. I am just curious how they are going to do this.

Janet, I can't just eat a couple of candies...........I am a sugar addict. Anyway, I already was bad this week and ate a piece of birthday cake..........white almond w/ cream cheese filling. So, no candy for me.

I know Joann said costco had chewable fish oil supplements. Does anyone know another place to get them?

Charlene - I hear you about the sugar - if I start watch out and I will be sorely tested this weekend - My DS is a big sweet eater - both him and my DIL are over weight and so is my little 5 yr old GD - I'm always telling her to eat healthy and she will eat fish and veggies with me - but they let her eat too many hot cheeto's....

Having a little bday cake is life I had some last week too and then some of my GS Graduation Cake !!! But I did adjust my calories on Saturday to make up for those treats last week - As Apples says - Planned Treats !!! and if you can't say no - just don't start...

Phyl may know - I don't do the fish oil since I eat so much of it :0) - PHYL ???

I will enjoy making easter eggs w/GDers - I love doing holiday stuff with them - xmas we make cookie - easter dye eggs - trick or treat halloween - fireworks - I guess it's cuz I remember the holidays the most when I was a kid and how it was all about family...

    • Hey there, just me, the invalid again. Nothing new to report...I'm just moving along at the same pace and feeling about the same... I did finish the baby sweater I had started for my little great niece for Easter. Now if they will stop by before leaving town I will be happy....Janet, I love to do the egg thing and was so looking forward to it with my little girl... My daughter is a big stick-in-the-mud and probable won't even boil any.... Won't miss the candy much.... chocolate isn't my bag... You know it's been almost 2 weeks since I've had any food or drink in my mouth.... I've thought and thought about what it is I really miss the most... Or If the doctor said I could have only one thing, what would it be..... I can't really come up with anything.... not seriously... Lemonade sounds refreshing to me..... I think the morphine has warped my brain somehow.... I'm hoping this experience will give me a new lease on food and what it means to me..... I guess time will tell... Feeling tired again, so better take a rest.. Have a good day everyone... Julie

Hi Everybody,

I'd like to report that I just got my first fill this morning. After I went into the doctor's office, I told the nurse that how much I have been eating at every meal. She laughed and said "yes, you do need a fill". The PA asked me to lie on my back on the table, bump up my tummy then lift up my head. It was like doing an exercise. She then rubbed my tummy and found the port. My port is actually located right above the big incision (only 0.25 inch from the incision, very close) She pushed the needle in (it hurt a bit, felt like a sting) and moved up and down for a minute trying to locate the port access point. It hurt a little when she was moving the needle up and down, but it was bearable. Finally she found it. She gave me 4.4 cc to a 9cm realize band. She said that my port just sucked all the saline in. I was told that my band could hold maximum 11 cc of saline. The entire procedure took about 10-15 minutes. So it was not as scary as I thought before.

My stomach felt a little different than before after drinking one cup of Water. It felt a little like after the surgery. But I wasn’t burping or feeling nausea. So she released me.

She also told me to stay on liquid for two days then soft food for another two days. Then I could go back to regular food. I know that 4.4 cc is pretty aggressive comparing to most of the first fills that I read in this forum. Hopefully it would work out fine. I bought 2 cases of EAS brand Protein Shake (coffee with caramel flavor). It tastes much better than what I had before. I drank half carton down, I was not hungry anymore.

My weight loss has really slowed down for the past three weeks. I hope with this fill, it could help me to get the scale moving again.
