I will look to see if they have that kind of wine at the state liquor store. I'm in Utah remember we have funky liquor laws. LOL I've heard of that kind before and think my daughter gets it. I have some bottles here that I like but have had them for awhile and would be embarrassed if they went bad. My most favorite is V Satui and we used to get it when we lived in Sacramento all the time. I loved going to Napa and they only sell their wine at their winery and very few restaurants. V Satui Gamay Rouge YUMMY

Good afternoon everyone!

I lost another pound after being on a plateau for 10 days (whew!).:lost1lbs:

I have been keeping up with my walking, and in the process, have gotten to know a lot of the neighbors! Kinda fun.

Today I have to go pick up my pick-up....I had to have some work done on it, and Mom offered to pay for my Christmas present. I accepted her offer, and then she doesn't have to worry about going to town and shopping!

We also decided not to get a tree this year, I just did not feel like doing all that work, have it up for a couple of weeks, then all that work packing all the stuff back up and having to take it 20 miles back down to storage...(call me lazy, but I just did not feel like doing it) and my Mom could care less (ha-ha). I really can't afford it right now anyway.:ban:

On a bright point, I am overdosing on Christmas movies on t.v., and I did all my cards I will put them in the mail when I go pick up my pick-up (haha) get it?

Hope everyone has a great ,warm, pain-free, healthy eating, stress free day!

Well prime rib it is, Smiths (Krogers here) had it on sale for $5.99/lb. I am comfortable making that and it always turns out yummy. Plus I am getting an early visit from Santa! I've been wanting new white dishes ever since DD got some for her wedding (she has the square food Network ones from Kohls if you know them) but it was just a want and not a real need. I tend to tire of dishes easily and always want new ones, but my thinking is white will be so versatile and I can always change up colors to go with it. Then I saw my exact dishes (cheapies from Walmart) on the news one night for having lead in them so I've wanted them more lately. Well seems DH was thinking of getting me some and we saw some at costco sortta like the Kohl's ones but a little different and are going to go pick them up this afternoon. What a guy! Now do I want service for 8 or 12? Usually do 8 but with the family growing, HMMMM??? They are really cheap so may go with the 12.

My motto with dishes and cookware....more is better. I have a service of 24 and did all the serving dishes to add to it little by little. I have a mix of ruby and some celery green. By buying more and you plan on using them for a very long time, buying extras allows for breakage, etc. And...when I buy dishes, I use them for every day life. Makes me feel special to set the table every meal. Makes my family feel special too.

Arlene, how's the Water? LOL

Lori, I just couldn't bring myself to go. It was 31 this morning. I know that is warm to most of you, but that is COLD here. I am going walking this afternoon before it gets cold again. The weather is going to be in the 70's tomorrow. This is why I don't put away my summer clothes. Heck it may be in the 80's Chritmas Day. I went shopping and bought my friend some clothes to wear when she rehabs. She is in an inpatient rehab at a hospital closer to her home. She still has not walked. I hope she will take some steps this week.

Then I babysat while my DD went to get gifts Monogrammed. I am getting ready to cook Crusted Honey Mustard chicken. You crust corn flakes for crust. The chicken breast is dipped in low fat honey mustard dressing.

I have read the posts. I will CBL

I am EXHAUSTED.............. spent the day on a field trip with 16 six year olds! Hats off to the teachers that do this EVERY day!!! It was cold and windy, but the beach was beautiful! We went to our local environmental studies center and learned about turtles and manatees. I forgot to bring anything for lunch. It was funny though- everyone gave me a bit of theirs and I was fine after a few bites : ) We are getting into the 30s tonight. brrrrrrrrrrrrr. I am going to get my feet up. My rash is now all over my body. I am thinking now it is a viral induced one. I had a fever blister just days before it came out. Just so weird! I am itching!!! Can't write anymore or read the posts. Love you all. hugs.. peasout..Laura

Look at all those shiney little faces! Cute.

So sorry to hear your rash is worse. Have you introduced anything new into your household? Carpets cleaned? anything like that. I have a friend that fought rashes and blisters (even on the bottom of her feet) for quite some time. They finally narrowed it down to her new cabinets...what they were treated with at the factory. She even had many trips to mayo (who finally figured it out). Just think if there was anything at all in the last month or b/4 that has changed. Hugs.

Happy I could help with the place setting number, Great. Any more $$$ I can help you spend????

Gosh, Arlene, wish we could borrow a bit of that warm weather. But, I do know that getting down in the lower temps really gets to you. AZ is looking soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good right now. DH is even pushing for getting that 30,000 bu of corn delivered this month....which usually would not be allowed to be delivered until contract date in Jan. We want to get on the road immediately after our last tax appt on Jan 4.

I don't blame you for wanting to get out of that cold. You won't want to go back too soon. I would think AZ is the perfect weather. When I went to the Grand Canyon it was cold, but dry. Some people were even wearing shorts. They must have been from your neck of the woods. I loved the low humidity. Reminds me. I had a dream about Vegas. I don't remember what happened, but all of you were giving me all this advice. I must have eaten a piece of cheesecake and lost a lot of money. lol Hey, I think I did that. lol

Well Melissa...you've got the love from all of us and I think you have been kicking yourself around enough the last few months so that is something you really don't need from us. In order to be successful and get back on the LB wagon, you are going to need to let some of that go (beating yourself up) and get into a positive frame of mind. Boohooing will get you nowhere.

Here comes the tough love.....GET YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON!!!!!! Leave the mistakes of the last few months behind you and somehow....anyway you can....find the part of you that was able to stick to this and take off the weight in the beginning of this journey. Get rid of certain ways of thinking. Example: Eating because of stress, eating sliders because of being too tight, eating because of a new job, eating certain things because DH and DS bring them into the house. Stop THAT way of thinking and replace it with postive ways. Example: I WILL NOT eat because I am stressed, I WILL NOT eat sliders (I will go and take care of problem at hand with my doc), I WILL NOT give myself the right to screw up just because I have a new job, I WILL NOT eat those trigger foods just because they are in my house (alternative is to toss them in the trash....pretend you are Janet).

Nothing would make me more happy than to pop on here in two weeks to see a post from you that says "I have stuck to this new plan and have not waivered for two weeks and I am seeing results"....now, that would bring tears to my eyes. Get back on that old horse and start riding. Was that tough enough love???? Love ya and sending hugs.

OK....Let's get started on the two week plan....hurry up....let's go...come on Melissa....time to start.

Apples you knew what I needed you made me smile at putting my big girl panties on. I used to say that alot I guess I forgot to do it. I feel I had a good day. first I had some coffee then later I ate greek yogurt for Breakfast then a banana for a snack. I had a chicken ceaser salad for lunch , probably too many calories since it was what I bought from the cafe at work. But I know now they have microwaves at work so I can bring stuff. Yeah!! I just got home from work and had half a cucumber with half cup Pasta with italin dressing on it which I do not think was too bad. I am cooking sliced turkey for dinner which will take about an hour or so and will have a fruit for dessert. I walked on my 15 min break around work and climbed the stairs alot today to get to my locker, break area, and the training room.

So I feel pretty good today. I will have a better idea on calories tomorrow when I bring my food. I do not go into work until 2 tomorrow so I plan on doing Zumba in the morning on my WII Thanks Apples for your love

1Day, so glad you are getting back on track. Forgive yourself and move on. Beating yourself up and making excuses will just result in the scale going in the wrong way. We are all human and all slip up from time to time, it's how we handle those slips that will determine our success going forward. Congrats on the new job. You called it Sam's is that like Sam's Club?? If so, DS works for Walmart and they have been so good to him.

Great - Yes when I said Sam's I meant Sams club. I am PT right now cause they only hire in PT but I hope too get full time soon. But so far in Orientation it seems that Sams and Walmart really take care of there people.

Mrs Bubba - I agree with Apples I hope you can get a Dr that will strip down your history and start over and get you on the correct path. Love and prayers for you

Melissa, you sound so much more positive today. Keep up the good work. Are you carb sensitive? The Pasta might not be a good choice if you are. Some people can eat it and some can't. I can't. Walmart sure has been good to my son. He's been there since the summer between HS and college and he's 27 now. They worked around his school schedule etc. and I believe like to promote from within. He started part time as well. His benefits are good too.

Well just got home from costco with my new dishes and gotta go back. Opened one box and the plates are all broken. GRRR but if you go to this link and look at letter G that is what I got:

Great, I love them! Are they heavy? My MIL gave me her Franciscan Sculptured Apple many years before she died. It is just right for me.

I don't remember if you wear Laura Geller makeup, but she is the Today's special on QVC. Yep, I bought it. She is my favorite. Janet, I know you like her too.

Julie, what did the doctor say? I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Hi there, we got home from Bismarck about 4:00.... Things did happen today... First, I got a shot of morphine from NP here and talked to her about medications and how the hydrocodone doesn't work for me anymore... She felt I should change pain meds....but have to do that with my pain doc..... Then we left for Bismarck and I saw the rhuemetologist... I do not have Sjogrens Syndrome...... My bloodwork says that is negative... but do have serious inflammatory issues.... We were able to consult with my pain doc and I came home with a new pain med and some meds for the inflammations... I was able to take the new meds right away and did get some relief so that I slept a bit on the way home and then napped in my chair for awhile.... pain is there, but not driving me crazy right now.. The inflammation meds are a pack with pills for 6 days... very strong to start and then gradually down... I do feel a bit like this is a new journey now and people are paying attention to me.... We'll see how this goes... I'm hopeful again and frame of mind matters in all of this... Let's hope I can sleep some tonight..... That will be like heaven......

Melissa, good for you and your new determination.... You can do this and we'll be here foryou.....

Laura, this rash is serious stuff....... Have you seen someone, or just you an Nael doing the doctoring???? I know you are both very competent, but you may need a specialist..... take care

Lori, wtg on new dishes.... sounds like you have things all together for your dinner party... Is it 4 or 6 now?? I'm sure you will be a hit....

Jodi, I had something I wanted to say to you but do you think I can remember what now?? Those dang drugs are really doing a number on me.... I'll think of it sometime..... Oh, it's about Jeff..... I could tell a while ago that you were sinding down, so am not surprised at all to hear you've had enough.... And good for you for sticking up for yourself.... I'm proud of you.... There is someone special just waiting out there somewhere for you... You will find him one day soon I think....

Well last night when I couldn't sleep I got up and wrapped Christmas gifts...Had to stop when the pain got too bad.... I might do a few more this evening.... Would love to get these all done as I have to buy more next trip to Bismarck.... We went way overboard with things for the kids this year, but oh well, I just love to see them happy....

Well, I'd better go sit with DH for awhile.... He was such a good sport to take me to Bismarck 2 days in a row..... and me half out of my mind in pain and saying dumb things and being too short with him..... He deserves some extra attention. Hugs to all and I'll talk to you tomorrow.... Julie

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
