OMG it is really quite this morning... Back from the gym and expected a couple post..

Well, I have load in the washer - need to do something but don't want to :cursing:)

I am such a procrastinator ;o)

Since our trainer has been flaking (not really he's making a exercise dvd and other fitness stuff and has a life too) on us lately my workout partner and I devised this plan - we write ck's to each other and if one of us flakes - we cash the check - otherwise we just tear it up.. Idrise would call us crazy for this plan but - it's that accountability that we need.. It's the reason we both haven't quit - plus we do like him even though he can be a butt head sometime..

Sorry Janet...had every intention of staying in touch...however, you know how life gets in the way.

I spent around 3 hours this morning working on my sisters yard. She'll be back next weekend to pack her stuff and move to Florida for 2 years....we'll see. She is going to put her house up for rent while she is gone. Her yard is totally out of control...weeds everywhere and the trees needed trimming. So I got some of the weeds pulled up and all of the front yard trimming done. It looks a little better.

Have plans of down loading audio books, cooking ribs one of these days....maybe going to see the airstream trailer store, reading a book (yes, an actual book), shopping for turtle food, laundry and I don't know what else.

My backside is a little sore from bending and pulling weeds....I'm stiff as an old board and this always happens. So if I don't feel too bad tomorrow, I'll go back to my sister's a pull more weeds.

I love long weekends....wish there were more of them.

Eva - what a great sister - pulling weeds for her. And great exercise. Love it when my butt hurts and always feel, maybe it is a few inches higher.

Janet - enjoy the relaxation today. Sex and the City is wonderful. Hope your friend feels better so you can go. We have Forks & Screens and can buy tickets ahead and be served in the theater. No crowds that way and we went @ 3 p.m. Not evenings.

Thank you everyone for the snack suggestions. Actually I feel better and not depressed now that I am not doing shakes all day. I still have a shake at least once a day usually in the morning since I am so tight and I ususally can't really eat till lunch anyways.

Maybe I was putting to but pressure on my body and mind with just the shakes. Also since I started OA that has helped me to.

Charlene- Keep up the good work we are all here for you.

I downloaded one audio book and one ebook from my local library... and the software that is supposed to allow me to read them on my iTouch. The software synced just fine, but cannot get the books to transfer! iTunes makes it really difficult to sync anything to your device that you don't buy from them. My BIL says just drag and drop, but I can't get that to work either!

DD & SIL saw Prince of Persia yesterday and were raving about it today. We have tickets to see Carrie Underwood tonight.

Feel lousy but going anyway. Doc says bronchitis. Did I report that already?? Anyway, don't think it is a problem with my band... I was really freaking out about that. But surgeon's office has me scheduled for an esophogram on Friday to check placement.

Joyce, movies in the afternoons is really nice. I love it when there aren't many people in the theater....however, being a working stiff, don't get that pleasure except on weekends. After I retire, then I won't have anyone to go with because they are all still working, but I can go by myself...that would be good too.

Melissa, glad to hear you are feeling better. It's all very hard and we have to go at our own pace. Hang in there.

Phyl, I didn't know you were feeling poorly...sorry about the bronchitis. Take it easy, you know the drill. My MIL gets bronchitis frequently...she lives with smokers also so I believe that doesn't help. Enjoy your concert, that should be a lot of fun!

Got my tortoise food shopping done. We went to look at Airstream trailers, but the place was already closed, so we went out for lunch and then grocery shopping. I have to bribe DH to stop at the store....groveling and ummm other stuff. He hates to shop and Albertsons didn't even have any beer he liked.

Okay, off to read or maybe take a nap....don't know why I'm tired, I slept well last night and plenty long enough.

Volunteered this am, planting & mulching at the I-75 Rest Stop. Got some sun, a little burn but not bad. Weed whipped at home then set on deck and read the rest of the afternoon. Ahhh relaxed now.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Phyll - so sorry about your not feeling well - but enjoy the concert.

Eva - you will find others who do not work and can spend time with you once you retire. But I like my own company and not scheduling around someone else too.

Janet, Nope no plans. Just getting things done around here. Not sure this date thing is going to work out. He says he wants to see me again & to make plans. I do and then he's too busy. Why don't they just say that to begin with? Hate games.

Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Hello loves! I just wanted to stop by and tell all of you how happy I am to see most of you on Facebook! Why am I so much better at logging onto there than onto here? I got tightened a little too tight the other day on purpose. I've lost 91 lbs in 11 months and want to lose 9 (or more!)in time for my one year bandiversary. My surgeon agreed to tighten it up that tight just for one month and see how it goes. I hit the worst plateau ever for the last two months so this will kick it in gear for a little while. It's probably not the best thing for me to do since I'm experiencing some pretty severe acid reflux. I just take some Gaviscon and it has been under wraps pretty well. What do you gals think of this? I've lost 4 lbs so far this week and a half, and I'm thrilled. Hopefully all liquids for this month will do the trick!

Hope all of you are well, thank you for the graduation congrats! Finally! Still more school to go though!

Love you all!

Meredith

Just be careful Meredith. The weight loss should loosen the band again. I, too, have gone back to liquids at times to jump start weight loss again. Plus its a lot less irritating after a tight fill. My last fill was so tight I actually have to wait a while and get my shower and some of my beautification underway before I can really start sipping my coffee. I can't drink a cold Protein Shake even. Warm coffee with lots of milk in tiny sips until I leave for work an hour and 15 min after I get up. Then in the car I can finally drink my Protein shake.

Had a great time with my sister, her 2 daughters, and my daughter and her step-daughter yesterday. Trip to Grand Rapids went well. We stopped in Saugatuck, which is a little tourist trap, very cute historic district, and shopped. Found a beautiful outfit, but I thought the price I saw was for both pieces, but they were priced separately, and with the gorgeous under-shirt I put together with it, ended up costing $200. I had to walk away. I need to repair or replace my roof and to refinish my gutted basement (water and mold issues). I have no money for expensive clothes. And even if I did, my Dutch heritage (read cheap) would have chastised me for weeks.

My nephew's graduation party was combined with 3 of his friends, and their mother's made tons of pulled pork, and with watermelon, popcorn, chips and salsa, Texas sheet cake, and chocolate chip Cookies, they fed several hundred people. Then my nephew's band played for us. They were pretty good.

I ate too much (choc. chip Cookies can be my downfall) and so I'm pbing this morning. My neice had one of her seizures on the way home. This is the one I want to help with her learning problems this summer. My other neice, who is 15, noticed and calmly but with some urgency informed her mother who was driving. My sister very calmly got to the side of the road. My daughter kept a hand on Livvy until Kris got out and just held her and wiped up the spit. The seizure only lasted maybe a minute but it was long enough. Then Kris switched to the back seat because once Livvy comes out of it, she really isn't out of it, she goes to sleep. So Kris held her the rest of the way and Rachel drove.

They go through this almost once a week. Livvy is on 3 medications and her seizures are still not under control. She had been playing and talking so nicely with my daughter's step-daughter and just went into the seizure.

I feel so bad for my sister. She's my baby sister (I turned 15 10 days after she was born.) She's been so good to my kids as their Auntie Kris. More like a big sister to my daughter than an aunt (they're 8 yrs apart.) This has become a fact of their lives.

One of the boys graduating with my nephew was paralyzed at the age of 14 when his dune buggy rolled. He played guitar from his wheelchair in the band with my nephew. All the grads had picture boards up and albums of their lives. All the pictures of this boy before the age of 14 show him walking and playing and having a ball. Now his wheelchair and paralization are a fact of his family's life.

Two good, strong, loving, intact, believing families, with a deep shadow that they live with and deal with everyday. Without faith in God, I don't know how they'd manage. But they do believe, and that faith is stronger because of what they've gone and continue to go through.

Well, I hardly know what to do with myself with a 3-day weekend. Gotta get ready for church now and then we'll see.

Cheri....enjoy your weekend....write something, go for a walk....three day weekends are far and few between. Sorry about your family's problem...you seem to have more than your fair share.

Meredith...wow, congrats on the weight loss. Take care and don't hurt yourself with being too tight. It's not good for you. When will you be out of school?

Janet, sounds like you are having a nice relaxing weekend.

I'm just doing weekend chores and reading a book. I finished one and am working on the 2nd.

I'm cat sitting for my girlfriend and she has a house alarm. Since I haven't had to do the alarm in almost a year, I set it off big time yesterday. I finally figured it out and hopefully won't set it off again, but that was not fun....it's very loud. I called my friend, but her cell phone went to voice mail. She finally called this morning and said she had 4 calls, two from the alarm company and 2 from me. Oh well.

It's a really nice day...hope everyone is enjoying their's.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
