Okay, the first picture is of the electric drop and eucalyptus tree. We have to move the power line before we can take out the tree....so the pictures last week of the big piles of dirt were from digging the trench for the new power line. I included this picture because once the tree is out and I get to plant my new mesquite I'll take another picture. Oh I might actually get the yard cleaned up too....no point in it now. The concrete mixer in the picture...was a gift to me from my siblings for my 50th birthday.

The 2nd picture is of some of my house plants....there are more....I haven't bought new ones in years, but I can't seem to not have house plants.

3rd and 4th pictures are of the fish pond. The first one is the original pond and I was just starting to build the wall in front of it. The pond got so hot it cooked the fish (gold fish). Since I put the wall in front, it helps to shade the pond in the summer and helps keep it cooler. We don't have to worry about freezing too much. I moved the pump (just decoration) and have a couple of different plants.

Like the fishpond, Eva. DH has one out in our backyard as well. The ice finally cleared off of it while we were on vacation so he has since turned on the waterfall and counted his fish and they all survive. Here the pond has to be at least 3 feet deep so the fish have a place to hide/hibernate for teh winter. He has some rocks and crates or something under there too that they hide under. I don't know how they survive as we don't feed them all winter either, but he's done lots of research on winterizing and each year they all seem to make it. He'll have a hard time leaving his pond when we move, but am sure he'll probably dig another one. I love it in the summer with the waterfall and sleeping with the window open and listening to it.

Yeah, we needed a Water feature...desert you know. What I like about the tank is it's moveable....I'm on the 3rd tank...two others sprung leaks.

I am still pissed about losing that long post this morning! I am sitting outside. Letting Nelson play- he's digging in the sand, blowing bubbles and washing his toy cars with the hose. He wanted to have a lemonade stand, but I just can't deal with it today. There's not really enough traffic to sell much and on weekends there is a lot of unknown traffic- people looking at houses for sale. I guess this (leaving kids alone outside) is the only place I am one of those hovering moms. I just don't trust people. I grew up out in the country where we never had to lock doors... we left keys in the cars, etc. I would play outside all day without a worry from my mom and dad. Times have changed. So Nels is sulking a bit about the stand. We went to the flea market this morning. There's an old man that sells old toys. I let Nels take out $2 from his saved money. (he has one of that banks that has 3 slots- saving, spending, sharing). He is sending half his shared with Haiti and the ASPCA. He is concerned that the spend slot is lower than the others and wants to earn money the quick way (stand) rather than the slow way (allowance- by cleaning his room and helping out around the house). DH has never seen him get so excited over some dirty used toys- he got a $1 boat and a $1 car. He realized now that he gets equally as excited there as he does with ToysRUs.

We went out to lunch. I was a little tight this morning, so I opted for something not so healthy. I was really afraid grilled fish would get stuck... and last time we went out I got stuck and puked in the parking lot. So, I got some Tomato based seafood and corn chowder. Then I ordered the appetizer fried oysters. It only came with 6, and had cocktail sauce with them. They certainly went down ok after the Soup. That was the first time in a week that i ate anything out.

Eva~ love the pics. That is so cool that you got a cement mixer for your birthday! That is so cool. I wouldn't know what to do with one- but always admire people that can do that kind of stuff. : ) And I was 220 this morning- so don't fear. I will politely wait for you to get back on track. What are friends for?

i will write more later guys. peas

Hey...happy Sunday to everyone.

Chilling on the couch. Had a wondeful time with DH. Band was great. Caught up on my reading but gonna go sit on DH's lap and watch Bonanza. I get in the recliner with DH and Tanker (100lb black lab) climbs on top of us. He goes nuts trying to kiss and please both of us...or, he is just plain trying to vie for attention from the both of us. He does not like competition and he senses it when momma sits with daddy. Talk to you all later.

Phyll....I'll try to watch the "old lady" comments. Heck, not to worry...you look younger than any of us in those new sunglasses.

And, I'm "Apple" green in my print....can't take it away from me.

Cheri...much better color with the blue. Thank you.

Hey everyone. Yes, I am feeling better, Eva. When I get into a funk, I try to do things that I know will make me feel better, like socializing more with people. This weekend, unlike usual, we went out both Friday and Saturday nights. My husband's band was great on Friday; I was so proud of him. And the folks in the bar really appreciated the music. We had a fun night. (The reason I said I'd have to eat chili, Janet, is because everything else on the menu is sandwiches or burgers) But I ended up eating fried clams---not the best choice calorie-wise, but I used to love them and haven't had them in years.

Last night, we went out to another place to hear a friend's band. We danced a little too. So it was a good night. I did get a little upset, because a friend who was there sort of snubbed us. I let these kind of things get to me, but what are you going to do? Usually, I think that there's something wrong with ME...but I tried not to do that.

This new crock pot recipe book got me all enthused about cooking again; yesterday I even went out and bought a new larger crock pot that can be programmed. I'm cooking a pot roast for dinner in it right now. Yum.

Tomorrow at work is Pi Day (3/14---the number Pi), so everyone brings either sweet or savory pies. I'm making a beef tamale pie that is really a casserole. AND making it in the crock pot (I'm obsessed now).

Good Morning Gang

Well the cat woke me up this a.m. 6:22 (really 5:22) figured I better get up so that I can go to sleep at a decent hour tonite :0)

Charlene - My aunt had tummy problems too - it caused her alot of pain- but takin vicoden and barely drinking any Water didn't help - so this shake thing may be good for the tummy

The only clock that automatically changes in my house is the dvr/cable box - so I have to go around changing all of mine - got 3 done - have 4 more to do.. (I like clocks ;0)

Janet.........I really like your new profile pic........so cute!!!!

I am really feeling alot better this afternoon. I do not take vicodin for that reason. I did get off of Miralax and on to Benefiber. I think I will take both.

I had to cook chicken pot pie for my friend's DH. My friend just got home from having gastric bypass. She is diabetic and so excited about getting off meds.

Wow, it is 80 today. I love it. If I ever complain about the warm weather again you all have permission to chew my A$$ out. Okay, gang.......gotta go cook something for DH.

Oh Good! An invitation to chew somebody's A$$! I'm in on it! I TRY to not complain about our weather but not easy with what we have been having the last week and a half. EVERY day we have had a thick fog and rain is almost a daily event. It does have an upside though. It's helping to melt the snow.

Happy to hear you are feeling better, Arlene. Figuring out what Fiber supplements work for a person can be very challenging. They just plain don't do anything for me OR some tend to go the other way and dehydrate me. I am all for getting my fiber in a couple of doses of fiber Cereal a day and I eat my high protein/high fiber bars for Snacks. One Bar I eat has 42% of fiber needed daily and the cereal I snack on with my coffee is like 57%. Just a tip and a warning....these cereals and Protein Bars have around 200 or more cals per serving.

Eva and Laura...thanks for sharing your photos. I LOVE seeing everyone and what they are up to.

Eva...I see a bug in your yard. I want one for a "summer" car. I can see Tanker in the front seat with me, ears blowing back (both of us) and headed for the lake.

Janet...that is the CUTEST photo I've ever seen of you. Just so nice.

Speaking of photos...I've been going to ask this question of you all...Does ANYONE like to have photos taken of themselves? I just am such a poop about it. I scutinize every one of them. DH gets so ticked at me and thinks I am too tough on myself. I spent time on Friday to just delete the ones I did not like and say "bye-bye" to them forever. I am such a pill!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
