Hi, many of you know me from the chat room. My name is Tabetha, everyone calls me Tabby. I am a 29 year old mother of two. We are a military family and are stationed in the Hood. I have spend my entire adult life over weight and I am DONE. I hate it with a passion and it is time that something changes, so I m getting banded hopefully within the next two months. I have Tricare and was approved on Tuesday. Going through Scott and White in Temple, and so far they seem like very nice people. Have my seminar June 4th and go from there.

I am double the person I want to be. My goal weight is 140 and my weight now is...278.:wink2: God I have NEVER told anyone that. Am I ashamed, why yes I am. I have tried so many diets it is not funny yet nothing worked. Lose some gain back even more. A few months ago I hit the scale and it said 290:cursing: and I said "ENOUGH!" I miss being in shape, I use to LOVE the gym, I love to swim, I love being on the go and I would love to be able to get out with my daughters and enjoy life. I am too young to feel like this and I am too old not to do something about it.

Why I finally choose to do this. My youngest who is almost seven is a tiny little thing. She is 4'2" and 53.4 pounds. She is just meant to be small. She tells me all the time how pretty mommy is. But she told me a few months back, "Mommy, I wish you could be skinny and healthy. I don't want you to die.":crying: That is where my journey began.

All my life I have yoyo'd with weight. But I thin all of my teen years, not tiny but never over a size 12. But now, I really want that size 8 and I will get there! So, it is time to let the skinny girl that has been hiding since childbirth back out.

Hi Tabby! Welcome to the boards! This is a great place to be while starting your journey. Congrats on the approval - the hard part is done...now you just have to go through the information sessions and get ready to be banded! :wink2:

I was banded on May 19th. Like you, I have tried every diet known to man, miserably failing and gaining even more weight. I decided to get banded and it was the best decision I have ever made!! I feel great knowing that I can and will finally lose the weight.

I wish you the best of luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
