Momto5 0 Posted May 29, 2008 I've been wondering the same thing. I will have to self pay as my insurance covers NO bariatric surgeries at all.:wink2:
lanie527 0 Posted May 29, 2008 I talked to my doctor about this and her reply was that my health care plan's emergency services will not turn anyone away. That said, there would still be bills.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> My lap band surgical group said that they are contemplating a supplemental coverage plan for self-pays that would cover slippage re-op or removal, but they have not offered it yet and that I would have to pay if needed. You should ask the group, but the chance of complications is slim and depends, in part, on your compliance with the lap-band protocols. After almost six months and a great time losing, I would not let that stop me. Good luck! Lanie
MacMadame 81 Posted May 30, 2008 Will your insurance cover any emergency removals or care? Mine doesn't. I specifically asked about it. If the surgery excluded, so is everything related to it including all pre- and post-op testing and services I get due to complications.
