Jennyt71 0 Posted May 29, 2008 Hello! I'm Jennifer in Houston. I have been researching the Lap Band surgery for about a year now, and lurking on this board for a little while. I went to the seminar at Methodist Hospital about a month ago. Dr. Robert Marvin will be my surgeon (hopefully, if everything goes according to plan). His office called my insurance and found out that I do have the benefit..so, today we went ahead with the next step and went to the lab to get blood work done. I have had terrible thyroid problems in my past (15+ years ago) and he did a full thyroid workup. I dont know how long until I hear back and get my first consult with him...I guess I'll hear from them when I do. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but I'm ready to do this and make a dramatic difference. I have about 95lbs to lose!
