Plans after goal?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any plans for after they reach their goal? Like as a reward or anything. I'm thinking of getting a tatoo. I have a small one that is my dh's name in chinese on my ankle (it was a very painful experience), but I think I would like to get a goat on a mountain (I am a capricorn), kind of a symbolic for the sign, but also for the mountain that I personally am climbing. Just something permanent to always remind me of all the work I've done to get me there. Not huge or anything, I'm thinking on the top of my foot (probably more painful than the ankle).

Wow. You just gave me something to think hard about. I don't have anything and I think the reason I haven't thought of anything is that I really never thought about me reaching my goal. Does that say something? Gonna spend hours unraveling the tangles of my mind. Hopefully I can think of something tremendous as a reward. And, like Jack, I'm waiting on that lottery ticket.

Yes, I have big plans. They are evil. Shall I tell you?

My sister-in-law, who is very cruel and tries to get my goat gave me a beautiful silk chinese robe for Christmas. I was so excited when I pulled it out of the box and was like, "oh, you shouldn't have".. she insisted I try it on in front of the whole family.. as I slipped it on, it barely even went over my arms.. I looked at the tag and it said "XL". ummmm.. yeah, that's what.. a size 14.. at the time I was a 28.. then I noticed there were no tags on the robe.. then I realized it was probably given to her for a present and she was regifting it to me... my goal is to fit into that damned robe by christmas this year and wear it the morning we open presents... And I won't feel bad at all about it, because she obviously didn't care enough about my feelings when she gave me something about 6 sizes too small for me and had the nerves to ask me to try it on.

OMG - CoolCrystal - that is AWESOME! I think you should totally wear that robe and I REALLY hope it will be too big for you by then. You have to make a big deal about how big it is - right infront of her!

I am thinking about a tatoo as well. Something tiny, hidden and girly, just for me.

Well considering I just got my ninth tattoo and also just got back from a six day trip to the mountains on my Harley, I guess the only thing left is that lotto ticket!

In lieu of that, my plans are a flat stomach and some DD's courtesy of a little nip and tuck.

I want to take dance lessons and get a tatto i drew that I want to put on my back, but didn't want to until I lost weight. It will be pretty big so I would have to show my entire back and I am pretty modest.

Thanks.. lol. I'm not really a vengeful person, but we are talking about a lady who pulled out her knitting at my bridal shower in front of everyone and started knitting while we were playing games and I opened my presents. She's just very rude and thoughtless. lol. I took her best friend (and only friend - her brother) away from her and she still hasnt' gotten over that yet. My friend who is 205 can fit into the robe, so I'm hoping in 50 pounds I can fit into it as well. I think I can do that by December. LOL.

My plans and ultimate reward would be to get pregnant!! Being overweight really messed up my cycle (like not ovulating). Since I've lost 40 pounds my cycles seem to be normal and my doc thinks I shouldn't have any problems. So..keep your fingers crossed for a baby Double V sometime in the near future!!

I'm definately going for the Tummy Tuck and boob lift. DH, who is very much a boob man, would love to see me with a 24" waist and 48" chest, but that ain't happening. I've spent too much of my life with parts of my body being too large!

Crystal, that's heartbreaking, what your sister-in-law did to you! Where does she live? I'll go break her kneecaps! You will MOST DEFINATELY fit into that robe, and when it's too large, give it BACK to her the next Christmas. UGH! What a horrible person! Well, being a total knockout will be the best revenge against her, and the best gift you can give yourself is your good health.

Thanks girl.. well, you know what I wrote about my mother in law and how close we are, I think she has some animosity towards me there too. She probably feels like I stole her brother and mother and she always takes it out on me in these ways. This isn't the only thing she has done throughout the last few years.. but oh well.. I am totally wearing that robe dangit. lol. and I won't have to say a damned thing. Oh I have to tell you, you don't need a boob lift at all or a tummy tuck.. i saw you in your outfit today and you totally look awesome and don't need those things. I thought your boobs looked perky.. not that I was staring or anything, but you know what i mean. lol

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
