Timing and eating.

Recommended Posts

I feel like I understand most of time when I can eat or cant. I shouldnt say understand but recognize. There are days I can eat a lot if I am careful and cheat by drinking ofcourse. There are other days it just isnt happening. Now even when I cheat I eat less than most every one else around but too much for me. What I dont get is how is it that some times I can eat things and some times I cant. I'm guessing its the chemistry somehow. I do know if I add Fiber to my Breakfast protien shake I aint eatin nothing for 5 plus hours.

I can eat steak most of the time with care and I do try once a week at least as I need the Protein and amino's....Med. Rare !!!

What kind of experiences do you have like this?

Hi bobby,

I'm 5 weeks out from surgery and am in Stage 5 (soft food). I am just like you, I'm still learning. Some nights I can have some rice and other times I can't, I can feel it stuck and I have to make myself vomit to relieve the uncomfortableness (don't know if that's a word). The same thing with chicken, it's weird sometimes I can eat it and other times I can't! I'm still into that old thinking, my old ways pushes the food in without even chewing, then when it gets stuck I say Oh shoot, I ate too fast, and I didn't chew. You will learn over time but getting the band was the best thing for me. At dinner I don't eat at the table anymore because everyone around me eats way too much, and in my eating days I would eat more then my husband. Tomorrow I go for my first fill and then my second weight in.

Hi Bobby,

There are only a couple of things that are on my "forbided" food list. Other then that, I continue to try things even though the last time I had them, I was brought into a pb moment.

My guess is that different things in our enviroment.... stress, allergies, lack of sleep, being too hungry, (for women) PMS, over exhausted.... MANY things determine our level of restricion at different times of the day! I know, weird, eh?

This unpredictability is what has my mom and sister turned off - b/c they are both WLS candidates.

I feel like I understand most of time when I can eat or cant. I shouldnt say understand but recognize.

How true! But whats really mental, is that when I 'recognize' this feeling, I still test myself and try to eat..........

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
