yes, normal. you will go from stopped up to liquid (sorry) for a few weeks post op, before you get "normal" again. Powdered Fiber - check with doc first, of course...

Yeah, it's a PITA. I started on the Benefiber before I actually had the surgery, and it served me well.

And continues to serve me well.

Your intake goes down considerably, therefore so does your, uh, output...

I went (actually didn't go) for four days after surgery. I've been pretty lucky so far and the diarrhea issue hasn't hit me at all. Keep in mind you aren't eating anything solid

Hey bux...keep in mind that if you are taking narcotic pain meds, that can "stop you up" as well. I highly recommend taking chewable fiber tabs (but, like somebody else mentioned, check with your doc first).

I had my first BM this afternoon on my 6th day.

I was actually surprized to have it.

I was on Clear Liquids 2-5 days out & switched to just liquids today. Not sure were solid matter would come from. :sad:
