Highest weight? or weight at surgery?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what everyone's top weight was. And also if teens have a better shot at losing more of their excess weight and having less of a problem with saggy skin. I still have to go see my doc and get approved but I'm currently 259 and 5'4".

My higgest weight was 469 and I'm only 5'2". Three years and 3 weeks after getting my lap band, I weigh 183 but I'm still only 5'2"! As for the hanging skin, not sure about teens, but I'd guess they'd have a better chance of it tightening up. Definitely try and have the surgery! Do it while you're young and don't wait until you're my age and regret losing so many years of your life because you missed out on so many things because of your weight. Good luck and just know you can do it!

My ticker starting weight is my weight at the beginning of my pre op diet. However, my highest weight was 29 lb more than that, and my surgery weight was 19 lb less.

I'm 5'2, a couple weeks ago I was 229, my highest weight ever, due to all the binge eating, I managed to get back to my starting weight, 225, and then continued dropping weight to 219 yesterday at surgery due to the 10 day liquid diet. Right now I'm really swollen and full of liquids so I haven't lost anymore, but I really hoping I can start loosing weight soon. I'm not even hungry, I've been nursing my one can of Protein Shake since I got home around noon!

This past week I caught a show about plastic surgery for people who had weight loss surgery. It featuered a mother and daughter, the daughter I believe had been almost 300 and had been heavy from childhood. Her arms were really bad, the "apron" as well as thighs , butt and hips were all worked on; they removed about 18lbs of excess skin. It is my impression that the need for surgery is dependent on more that just one thing. I think if you are lucky enough to be tall, the weight is better distibuted and the skin hasn't been streched out as much, some skin has more elasticty than others. I also hope that the better tone your muscles have the better your chances are. My last hope is that the more moisture in your skin the better. No fact in any of this, but I am upping my Water intake and getting in the gym. No hope of surgery for me until about Feb. so I got 2 months and I hope it helps.:cursing:

I kinda agree with niterun and don't yes if your taller it is distributed better but in my case I'm only 5'4 and I'm lucky that my weight is distributed more evenly than others - I'm 118-120kgs not sure if I've gained or what not but usually you would look at someone that weight and think "yeah she weighs more" but I'm lucky, I'd hate to be one of the people that only has it around my ass lol =(

My highest weight was 317 and my weight the day of surgery was 310. I now weigh 258 and I am 5'7". This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am 41 years old today (my birthday) and I WISH I would have done this when I was your age.

You should look fabulous when you are finished. You are young and your skin probably has good elasticity. Make sure you start working out as soon as you get clearance but take it easy at first. Make sure you ask about stomach exercises, because one post I read on here said their surgeon didn't recommend them for at least 4 months.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
