Very negative comment from fill doctor.

Recommended Posts

Another Houston area person here. Was wondering if you checked on going to a different doctor? I would not personally spend that amount of cash on a patient then to have him act that way. You have done great already :)

Very few doctors will do fills for other surgeons patients. I know one but he charges 400 for the first initial visit and 150 for fills. I'm filled to maximum capacity already so I won't need to really go in unless something is wrong or if someday I get pregnant and need to be unfilled.

reply,

"Don't get out much, do you?"

or

"You should get out more often"

or

"Well, you will soon. As your practice grows you'll see more than that"

Well from personal experience...I have lost 100 pounds with the lap-band. There are good PS out there! I was lucky enough to find one in back a$$wards Central Oregon. But heck yeah...stand your ground. Don't take crap from any of them. Remind him that you are paying his salary!

Ok I kept reading through these posts to see if ANYONE would agree even a little bit with the doctor.....well I guess its up to me....1st ues whatever and ANY motivation you can to reach your goal...170 lbs is not asking to be super model thin so yyou have your head screwed on straight.....about me...took me 3.5 years to take off 120lbs, and 6 weeks to put 25 back on that I am fighting with again....anyway this site has GREAT success stories, but I think there are a lot more closet cases of 20 to 70 lb weight loss. Don't get me wrong any weight SUSTAINED loss is a victory. But our big numbers (100+) take longer to achieve then RXY, and from my own experience it is easier for us to put it back on......About putting it back on. My RNX friends that have lost 100+ lbs have all regained some, and they tend to do it AFTER year 2 or more years. The with the band what i am hearing more and more about is unexplained problems when there has been a history of smooth sailing.....My case was 3 years one fill and no issues....then BAM out of the blue the band was too tight and I had 6 months of nasty reflux, needed an unfill, then a refill.....still not right and I have an older band that is harder to adjust....so I am regaining....so your doc gave you a message you did not what to hear. Its delivery may have been crapola, but there may be some truth there. Information is power and file it away....so when if gets harder and harder to lose, and takes longer and longer do not get discouraged and become one of the patients he has experience with....Thanks for sharing

I think he is full of crap. I lost 114 and just had a TT 2 months ago. My Dr has seen several people with over 100 pounds lost. But I have to agree with another person on here. My plastic surgeon also has very bad bed side manners. I had heard from a few people that he is totally different when it comes to the girls who are in shape and just coming in for a boob job. It was proven when I brought my best friend with me to one of my follow ups and she is beautiful. Well he was so nice to me and just talking away. I could not believe it. I was kind of mad but had to just blow it off. They really can be such jerks.

The say that RYN is more successful is just wrong. At year 3 the lapband and RYN is the same at 65% of excess weight loss. Its 85% at year 2 with RYN but most gain back at least 20%. Seeing that the results are the same, I would pick lapband over RYN. Good luck.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
