McGreen: Of course my plastic surgeon said that surgery was better than thermage and my dermatologist (who does thermage) said thermage is less invasive. Surprise, Surprise on those opinions!

Wow, what a lovely subtle and natural result! You must be thrilled, you look lovely, not at all stitched up and "done". I'm gonna start saving now!

Terry and Karey,

I too got some Botox, between my brows, on my forehead and around my crows feet, and can say I am definitely hooked. I just love the results! I only bruised on one side of my eyes by my crows feet and it wasn't black, thank goodness. I definitely will be getting the Botox regularly. I also got Perlane in my nasolabial folds and the results are okay, just not as dramatic as the botox. A week later, I got my brows tattooed on permanently and will be going for a touch-up on 6/9. I felt like the vainest person on the planet, but then decided that I was worth it. I have spent many years not liking what I saw in the mirror and now I like the way I look, especially with non-surgical interventions like Botox and Perlane to help with the downside of aging.

Jacqui,

If they use the Botox sparingly, you don't get that expressionless or blank look. My Nurse likes to use less, so you still are able to look like yourself and have facial expressions.

Angelnurse,

Do you have a closeup pic of the eyebrow tattooing? I am super curious as I have such light colored brows. That's what I get for being a fair skinned redhead. Oh well. LOL Thanks in advance for possible pics or any advice and pricing of having this done.

I'm booked to have fillers put in (cheeks and marionette lines) and some botox around my eyes in August (2,000 Canadian). I am booked in to have thermage for my neck and face (1500.00 Canadian) 3 weeks later. I think I will also pay the extra 500 to have thermage for my eyelids as well. I hope I will be happy. Its alot of money, but I'm not ready for a face lift yet. I'll be 50 in the fall, but I'd like to put it off for awhile. I need a Tummy Tuck, LBL, inner thigh lift and breast lift. I'm not even going to talk about my arms. The less I can do without more surgery the better. If I'm happy with thermage, I may consider it for my arms and calves- who knows. But losing wt does have its down side (yards and yards of excess skin!)

Helpneeded: Go to Ask Dr. Schulman thread located on the cosmetic surgery section. I'm sure he can give you more info.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
