I am 4 days post-op and feeling like I'm recovering. I looked down at my hand and there was a lump.. it's not a bite, it's the opposite hand that my IV was in and it's not even red... just a lump.

It actually feels like a cyst because it's kinda hard.

I know there are things called Ganglion Cysts and this seems to fit all the symptoms.

It makes sense that I would have one-has this happened to anyone else?

Ganglion Cyst

This is the description given at WebMD...

I had one in my left wrist that I could see really well if I bent my hand down it would pop up and then sometimes I would move my hand the wrong way and get a sharp pain in my wrist, Doctor said the sharp pain was the cyst popping and draining out - then it would heal and come back

Over time it started giving my pain and weakness in my wrist and hand so I went to the doctor and they would give me a cortisone shot that would get rid of it for a while then it would come back so I finally went to a hand doctor and had surgery to take it out - never had a problem since :biggrin2:

I had one on my left wrist in college. I went to the infirmary and the Dr. there took a huge medical book and slammed it down on it. It burst and never came back. LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
