Banded Nov 06 - New Here

Recommended Posts

Hi, Everybody. I was banded Nov 06, went from 269 to 200, but most that was lost the first six months. After suffering with a too-tight band for 14 months, I had a slight unfill, and now I'm trying to get back on track eating solid Proteins - for the last year I've been existing on Protein Shakes, cheese, and more milkshakes and chips than I care to admit. So...please refresh my memory on what a well-behaved bandster with proper restriction eats throughout the day. I'm determined to get my last 40 pounds O-F-F!!

Happy Saturday to Yous!

Thank you for confirming for me that I am doing the right thing by getting an unfill on Tuesday! I, too, have been living on cheese, milkshakes, crackers ....and oatmeal!

I am so tired of fighting my band at every meal...and ready to eat healthy foods once again! I plan to start by celebrating with some pan grilled tilapia and steamed asparagus!

Cheers and best of luck to you!!

PS - I havent lost in 6 months or so!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
