Ailie 1 Posted May 24, 2008 I think things are back on track for me once again. I was originally scheduled for surgery on May 21. I was so excited. Well, the Monday before last I ended up with an awful pain in my mouth. By Tuesday I was in the ER and on an IV with antibiotics. Wednesday was a trip to the dentist so that he could refer me to an oral surgeon to have an abscessed wisdom tooth pulled. While all this was going on, I had a call into my surgeon who ended up cancelling my surgery until the tooth was pulled and I was healed. While I understand the reasoning behind it, I was still very, very disappointed. I was so focused at that point with only 1 week to go before surgery. When the surgery was cancelled, I felt everything was pulled out from under me and I was right back at the beginning again. I had my appointment with the oral surgeon on Tuesday (the day before my surgery had been scheduled). He was awesome. Got me in on Friday. I ended up having 2 wisdom teeth pulled. I have very little pain at the moment and feel pretty good. He is sending a letter to my surgeon telling him that I will be good for surgery any time after 2 weeks. I figure I will call the surgeon on Wednesday and try to get another appointment set in stone. I can't wait. I've kind of been wandering around lost during all of this, but I finally feel like I'm getting that focus back again. I"m thinking now it won't be until the end of June though. I have to tell you though, I'm getting very, very sick of Protein Shakes as I have been on them all this time and will continue to be until the surgery. HeatherO 7 Posted May 24, 2008 Your health is so important and an absessed tooth can be a miserable experience. You dont want a major infection being cleared up at the same time getting abdominal surgery. It might seem difficult because you are working on getting the band, but what is 2 weeks compared to the rest of your life :0) It will be done and over with before you know it. Ailie 1 Posted May 24, 2008 It's so true...my health is so important and if I had the surgery while there was an infection going on, that could have been very bad. I'm glad it happened before the surgery too instead of the day after or whatever because the infection would have been there during the surgery causing a possible bad situation. I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, so even though I'm disappointed that I didn't get my surgery when I had planned, it's really for the best. Okay, I have to wait some more, but it will happen
