What is your calorie intake daily??

Recommended Posts

My doctor has just asked me to stay under 800 calories a day after he did my first fill. I was banded 3/18 and have lost 26 pounds since surgery. I did have a three week plateau just before my first fill where I didn't loose any weight.

Just wondering how many calories everyone else is getting that keeps them loosing?????

Hugs

Paula

I was banded 3/28 at the University of Wisconsin and had my second fill this past Monday. I have the Realize band and now have 6 cc in it. Currently, I eat about 1500 calories per day and burn about 500 with exercise. I walk 2 miles each morning with the dog and later hit the gym or ride my bike. I am down 36 pounds from the start of this journey, which was mid-December when I went to the seminar. It hasn't been easy and I have gotten very frustrated because it takes more will power than I thought it would. My current fill isn't doing much so I am tracking my calories closely, trying to follow band rules, and reminding myself that future fills should make it easier. Good luck!

My doc recommends 1000-1200 calories a day. I average 1000 calories, somedays more, somedays less.

I eat 2,000 calories a day and burn 500-750 calories through exercise everyday. My body doesn't seem to lose on low cal diets.

At 2 weeks I was told I should be having only 500 calories a day. I thought that was ridiculous. I was averaging 700 and following their menu and food program precisely. I also felt great. So I ignored that and then started mushies, which probably upped my calorie intake a little more. But I'm losing now, wasn't before, and still feel great. The Dr. said listen to my body. The dietician was confused on many things, and so I am not sure if she was right about the calories or not, but I'm going to continue to follow the menu plan and measure everything. I'm not counting calories. I exercise, and I weigh myself. When there is a plateau, I'll think about counting up calories to make sure I'm not "over eating"--which sound silly when my meals consist of either 4 oz or 1/4 cup, and 3 Protein Shakes inbetween.

My doctor advised between 1000-1200. I would not loose weight if I only ate 800 calories a day.

I eat about 1200 a day.....never higher than 1300. I also burn about 300 cal a day with cardio/strength training. I plateau about every 3 weeks (3 weeks steady loss, 1 week no loss). Finally hit onederland today!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
