Hi, My name is Cathy. I have had a band for three years. I lost real good at first and then it stopped. I even tried using slim fast for Breakfast and dinner and had no loss. I had very bad knees and was unable to walk much or exercise. I also have fibromyalgia, so I pretty much stay in pain. I just had total knee replacements and am recovering from them. I am able to walk more and exercise more and I hope to start losing again. I am disabled. I have been married for almost 40 years. I have 5 children and 18 grandchildren. I want to be able to do more with my grand children. I hope I get to know some of you very well. Thanks.

Cathy:smile2:

Hello Cathy! Glad to see you joined LBT! I am new too. 18 grandkids? Wow what a blessing! I am still in the early stages of getting my banding approved. I will have some answers next month!!! :blushing:

Hi Cathy and welcome to LBT! I second that, wow, 18 grandchildren, how wonderful is that!

I am sorry you have had so many struggles, hopefully with your knee replacements that will help. With the support and advice you find here, hopefully we can all help each other stay on track and get the thinner, healthier bodies we all want.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
