salsa1877 10 Posted May 23, 2008 So for over a month, the scale has not moved.. I have no idea how that is possible b/c i don't eat a whole hell of a lot. I am not hungry very often either. I guess I will go get another fill... I am very frustrated!:blushing: I am jumping in from another board! What kinds of foods are you eating? Are you exercising? You are at about the level of weightloss where I was told you need to make sure that you are eating the RIGHT foods and movin' the hiney! According to my doctor, just by cutting portion sizes the band will help you lose about 30-40% of your excess weight, but after that is really up to us. If you list a day or two of meals then I would love to help you tweak it if needed.
judybellyband 6 Posted May 24, 2008 (edited) I would love to take you up on that. I am about 25 lbs away and it is slowly coming down but have just come off a dreadful plateau....needed more Protein and change in the way i was exercising. You are doing great and would appreciate the help. Edited May 24, 2008 by judybellyband
Fanny Adams 7 Posted May 24, 2008 I'm gonna jump in from elsewhere too, and say that "i don't eat a whole hell of a lot" tells me that getting another fill will NOT solve the problem! It might even make it worse, by making it harder to eat the good solid healthy foods and you'll end up substituting the easy soft slider junk foods that don't fill you up. If you're not eating much in quantity, what's the quality of your choices like? Are there other ways of changing your routine to give your body a bit of a shakeup? Maybe change your choice of exercise or go back to keeping a food diary again and see if the calories you are eating are giving you the most bang for your buck. Unless you are finding that you are eating large quantities of solid low fat, low cal, high fibre healthy food and are STILL hungry, I don't think a fill is the answer. nip50 2 Posted May 24, 2008 How much are you eatting? Sometimes it's not enough. When I find myself getting into a slump I bump up the amount I eat for a day or two. For me, this tends to trick the body and my metabolism. I normally eat 800-900 calories a day, but will bump it up to 1000-1200 when this happens. I don't normally drink Protein Drinks, but when I want the extra calories this is how I do it. I'll drink a low-carb slim fast just to get the extra calories. JSOTO 0 Posted May 25, 2008 the scale was not moving for me either.....i did NOT need another fill, in fact, i got a DE-FILL....i was not hungry either, and was getting stuck way too often, i just was not getting enough calories down, my body was hanging onto every pound...now after a week, i am seeing the scale move, 1 pound down, in about 3 days! Sometimes we think the solution is a fill, when in reality we are not consuming enough food!!!! hard to belive for some of us hard-core dieters!!! good luck! j
odamay 4 Posted July 15, 2008 My biggest problem before the band was not eating enough so my body goes into starvation md. and does not burn any of the storedfat. Well even with the band you may not be eating enough. so you still wont see the scale move.
dustout 0 Posted July 27, 2008 I think my problem right now is my metabolism has crashed. I'm eating the lower amount a bandster should eat and pretty healthy food choices, and exercising, but the loss is just crawling the past couple of months. I'm trying to up my Protein intake. I think since my Protein intake was so low it encouraged my metabolism to get super lazy. Hopefully this will help. I'm going to burn out exercising if it keeps not doing anything more than sitting around lol... I know that's a bad way to look at it, but it's hard to not be lazy when it doesn't seem to make much of a difference (although I do feel better when I do it! I got pretty spoiled early on... The first 80 calories basically came off with almost no effort. I followed the diet and the pounds just jumped off of me. If I exercised, they jumped off even faster! I guess those days are gone. thankful1 0 Posted July 29, 2008 salsa1877, :Hi ! I would love to know what have you been eating and what type of activity are you doing? I had my surgery on 10/8/07 and have lost 30lbs. I don't think I am eating enough or maybe not the right foods. For instance forr Breakfast I had a bowl of life Cereal, lunch I had baked tortilla chips and picante sauce. dinner was a 1/2 order of a chicken and mashed potatoes dish from 54th street restaurant. I try to walk at least every other day. What do you think?
