But I have to introduce soft foods with my full liquid diet. I get to have tuna salad!!!! WooHoo!! Egg salad, too!!!! I almost feel like I can go in public and not eat funny! hehehe!!!

Hey Tammy, that's wonderful. Egg salad and chili were my mushy favorits, heck they still are my favorites. My mom's lost 8 and really enjoyed the egg salad too. I sent an email to Inamed to see if she's the oldest bandster, but I haven't heard back yet. Take care.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I am having a problem with mushies. I know I USED to eat fast and I have been told that I still am. food only stays down for about a minute then comes right back up. I know I am on full liquids but they are doing my first fill in a week and I am supposed to be introducing mushies. I have tried refried Beans and pudding. Pudding does seem to go down easier. I may just not be able to eat refried beans. I was just looking to get some extra protein....any thoughts anyone??

What do you put in the egg salad/tuna salad? I am starting on those also.

Beverly,

I make my tuna salad with Miracle Whip Light, diced eggs, and sweet pickle relish. As long as it is all cut in tiny pieces, you should be ok with it. My mom made me some egg salad.< /p>

Actually she made me four different kinds! I only liked the one that was made like tuna salad but also had mustard in it.

Also a weight loss update. I have not lost anymore weight since my fill so I called yesterday and I will go back in on the 17th for a more aggressive fill.

I ate refried Beans yesterday and they did not set well with me. Felt like they were trying to come back up 3 hours after I ate them. I think they were too thick. Next time I try eating them I will have to thin them with some Water. I love eating mashed potatoes even though I know they have lots of calories. It's been 2 weeks since my surgery and I actually tried mashed potatoes before I was supposed to. Had them last weekend. Didn't seem to have any issues with that. Great job on your weight loss! Good Luck on your fill.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
