I know what you mean. I have a co-worker whose wife just died of MRSA. She went into the hospital for puemonia and came out dead. It happens quite often. Wash your hands often, carry antibacterial stuff, and make sure anyone who touches you washs thier hands first. It won't stop it completely, but it can't hurt.

Hi AppleBottom! The MSRA infection rates will vary from hospital to hospital. Since you work in a hospital, you probably know that MRSA has colonized on the skin of lots of people that don't even know they have it (as a hospital employee, you could be colonized right now), which is why handwashing is sooooo important. The only hospital staff that should even have cause to touch your incisions are the OR staff (and they'll be sterile). That makes it important for you to make sure your own hands are clean before you mess with the incisions. I know it's easy for me to say, but MRSA would be a pretty minor worry. There's lots worse bugs floating around in a hospital.

My father in law died of MRSA. He went in for heart surgery. It was a huge success. He felt great, and was looking forward to going home. He SUDDENLY took a turn for the worse and ended up with MRSA. It was in his lungs. He was in the hospital for 11 weeks and died a horrible, slow, disgusting death. It was gut wrenching. We were at such a loss as to how it happened, and why nothing could be done about it.

Hi AppleBottom!

I am new to this site and waiting patiently for my Dr.'s appt for banding. Like you, I work in a hospital and share you concerns about MRSA. I fell off my horse last year and broke my arm. I Was healing fine and developed a MRSA infection and had to have the whole thing reopened ( I have plate and screws etc holding me together lol!) Anyway, since I've had 2 MRSA infections in the past year I am wondering if/how this might effect my future surgery? Any info anyone might have would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
