marineliebe 2 Posted May 21, 2008 hey guys, i was banded yesterday. I'm having a lot of gas pain, but its not the normal shoulder pain. its like i have all the gas in my abdomen and it feels like i have REALLY REALLY bad indigestion. Its hard to burp or get gas out the other end. is this normal? i've been walking a lot and taking gas-x but i feel like the gas is just not coming out. any input would greatly put my mind at ease! thanks so much! marine
gone 4 ever 6 Posted May 21, 2008 Congrats on the LB Marine. My gas wasn't bad but what I do along with the gas-x is roll my shoulders for acouple of minutes several times a day. Roll them 1 at a time...left-right-left-right... you get the idea. Then when I am about done I roll them at the same time for a couple of rounds. Anyway it helps with the upper gas. Good luck with your journey
jess29 0 Posted May 21, 2008 (edited) Even though i'm almost 2 years out from getting my lapband ~ i remember the gas being so very awful for me also! Try rubbing your tummy in a U shape to help move the gas. Then as another suggested - roll your shoulders. It is normal, and it does pass. The first week can be pretty rough for some people though. Hang in there, it does get better ~ Edited May 21, 2008 by jstevens106

80s_chick 2 Posted May 21, 2008 Warm liquids really helped me. I used this same technique with my last c-section. I saw a video about it, and the doctor swore that if you drank warm liquids as opposed to chewing ice or drinking cold liquids the first few days that it would stop any gas buildup. I had no problems with gas with my c-section or this surgery using this method. It is really amazing. I do burp a lot now though. How ladylike!
