North Dakota new wannabe

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Since I started posting threads a few days ago, I thought I'd introduce. I am starting my consultations visits on May 2. According to the nurse, since I am a self-pay, I should be in around the 1st of June. One question I have is whether you got weak (from lack of food) and for how long?

I live in North Dakota but love to travel. In the summer, I ride motorcycle - alot. My last four motorcycles have been HD Road Kings - hence my screen name.

Did anyone plan anything special for themselves during the process? Like when my tax refund comes in 2006, maybe I should visit Viet Nam or rent a motorcycle in New Zealand to reward myself.

I'm appreciating the answers and support I've been finding here and can't wait to join in. Celeste

Welcome Celeste!

I haven't planned anything special for myself during the process, but this is a great question! This would be a great topic under the Lounge area! You should start a thread there with this question! We have had a recent thread about what we want to do to reward ourselves for reaching goal, but I haven't seen anything about during. (I'm a full time student, and when I finish school, and before I go off to surve I want to take one of those extreem driving courses, like spys or stunt drivers do.)

I love your idea about renting a bike in New Zealand! We have several members in OZ...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
