I haven't had a problem "sculling".. now, I don't drink a full glass in one big gulp, but I can drink a pretty decent amount at a time. But, I prefer not to be super tight like others do... I think it really depends on your restriction. I still drink the same way I use to..

I can chug two or three gulps, no problem. Not a whole glass, perhaps 1/4-1/3 of one, then I have to stop for a minute.

I haven't gotten to my "sweet spot" yet, though. So that might change.

So, it looks like the answer is "maybe". You'll just have to wait and see what your body allows.

I've always been a gulper, so I was worried about that, too. It hasn't been a problem for me thus far.

I don't have any issues either, but you might learn to like your Water, if you drink it more slowly. I, too, have chosen to be less restricted.

Okay, not sure what language you are speaking but I'm answering in English!!! (or American!)

I can't chug a glass of Water (or anything else) anymore. It is a little bit frustrating, I'll admit. If I do it will hurt and I may very well PB (not vomit, it just comes up, but the worst part is the feeling of it being stuck) This new way of drinking takes practice. I was warned by my doctor that it would be that way and was encouraged to practice before surgery, which I did, but honestly you can't really practice it until you have to actually do it. I didn't feel that way until after my 5th fill. Because Fluid intake is so important to lap band patients it really is something you have to learn to do. I find the best way is to carry a bottle of water around with me everywhere I go. I take sips constantly throughout the day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
