Driving in hilly areas causes tightness?

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody,

I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I live in Houston and this past weekend my boyfriend and I drove to Horsheshoe Bay, out by Austin Texas. As you may know, Houston is flat as could be, but once you get out by Austin, it's very hilly. My ears kept popping while we were going up and down the hills and that evening when I tried to eat dinner at the hotel I couldn't get anything but Soup down. The next day it was a little better, but then on Sunday when we headed home it started up again, to the point where I felt "car sick" the whole way home and kept burping. That evening and all day yesterday I was tight as heck and today it's a little better. I know this happens on airplanes but I wondered if anyone else had experienced this from riding in the car?

I'm always burping no matter what I do, rolling over in the middle of the night, after drinking anything, no matter how small the sip, and forGET about trying to kiss men :wink2: I just avoid dating until I'm done losing weight and can ease up on the restriction.

I've flown and don't have that kind of response, though. And definitely not while driving. I'm certain it's due to space left in your band, air in your band, barometric pressure, the thin air? Mountains I could understand, but hills seems a little weird.

Maybe the trip just coincided with a "tight time" during your fill. Sometimes my band is just uber tight. It happens based on my moods, too...sometimes during PMS and other times for no reason I can figure out. Hormonal/enzyme related probably.

You might want to mention it to your doc.

I don't think hills are the problem. There are always people insisting they get tight when they fly, too, but I haven't noticed it. ( I took a 4 1/2 hour flight yesterday) I do think that there are certain things that affect the tightness of our bands and they might happen to coincide with flying or driving up hills (like dehydration?) I happen to think it has to do with Fluid intake because I know you can get pretty dehydrated when you fly and sometimes (like when you take a trip) you might not have Water as readily available as when you are doing your regular daily thing. Does that make any sense to anyone out there? Just a theory.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
