rearea1222 0 Posted May 20, 2008 Hey Everyone! I know we've all been reading the boards and talking to people about what to expect after the surgery. Why not share all the items others have found "helpful" after the surgery?? Recommendations I've gotten... gas-ex strips heating pad small pillow Everyone, feel free to add!
VegasGrace 1 Posted May 20, 2008 Your favorite beverages (don't worry about dieting after surgery-avoid soda pop and apple juice - gas) Get your scripts filled before surgery so you won't have to wait at the pharmacy after or have someone go fill them for you. A remote.

cathychatts 1 Posted May 20, 2008 Hum, I have everything on the list except a lake house. :wink2: Where can you find a cheap lake house? Target?
TX Diva 1 Posted May 20, 2008 Since my husband is taking off that week to take care of me, I'm making sure that HE knows where everything I might need is located. I've already started a lapband box so that I have it all in one spot for him. My friend who just had lapband surgery suggested that I buy some really loose undies because the elastic in all of hers really bothered her incisions. (She didn't want to go commando!) Apples2 19 Posted May 20, 2008 Hum, I have everything on the list except a lake house. :wink2: Where can you find a cheap lake house? Target? I think you can get a rain check at Target for one! Another thing I bought was a couple of loose fitting bras that just slip over my head. :hand:
cathychatts 1 Posted May 21, 2008 I went to Target to see about a raincheck for the lake house and they said they had given them all out. :crying:I will check Wally World :cryin: if they are sold out I guess I will have to look for a beach house. I saw a list on here that mentioned toliet tongs. :confused2: I thought that was a hoot! :cursing:
Camel_Cracker 3 Posted May 25, 2008 I've gotten a body pillow (I'm a stomach sleeper) and have stocked up on Isopure from GNC. I also went to a half-price book store and stocked up on trashy romance novels and other fiction fun.
triser72 0 Posted May 25, 2008 Ooooooo....I was thinking about the books, but I forgot about 1/2 price bks! Gotta put that on the errand list!
rearea1222 0 Posted May 25, 2008 I also picked up some mini spoons and mini forks, so that when I can start eating I force myself to take smaller bites. http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=752&f=27457&q=demi+spoon&fromLocation=Search&DIMID=400001&SearchPage=
Great2BThin 5 Posted May 25, 2008 The list the hospital gave me had 'toilet tongs' on it. I was too embarrassed to ask....what the heck is a toilet tong? I'm also planning on getting some sugar free popsicles and Jello and some broth to have on hand.
anewkim 0 Posted May 26, 2008 I found Unisom cherry flavored "SleepMelts" at Wal Mart.
Camel_Cracker 3 Posted May 26, 2008 WOW!!!!!! I googled Toilet Tongs... they look like tongs for barbecueing and you use them to clean your butt if you can't reach. I wish I had a bidet!

Well, I'll be! That's about all I could imagine that meant but yet I thought nah, that can't be right. Who knew??
MeiQa 0 Posted May 26, 2008 I took 2 season of Sex and the City and my portable DVD player and was very happy. I am not a reader so books are of little use. I did do all the food shopping per op so I did not have to go anywhere for a week. I used mens boxes as undies and they worked very well, just got them a few sizes bigger. Good Luck
