annetsteph 0 Posted May 20, 2008 yesterday my insurance denied me stated I did not meet the 6 month supervised diet reqiments. Did this happen to any of you and what did you do to fix it?
wildercrews 0 Posted May 20, 2008 Yes, I was needed for the same reason. Appeal the decision and ask your primary physican and surgeon to help you. Once they received the complete 6 month diet history, I was approved. Took 7 days. Be encouraged.
Tracyde730 7 Posted May 20, 2008 Exactly what was the problem? Did you do any of the 6 month diet at all??
cathychatts 1 Posted May 20, 2008 I had to have my doctor re-send the diet papers showing 6 months consecutive, and i had to show a weight loss of 10%. I had done it, but the papers were not together. We resent them and it was approved in hours! Good Luck. PS There is no way to get around doing the 6 months, all the companies are very strict about that!
kathystrick 3 Posted May 20, 2008 It seems a lot of policies have this requirement. If you have not completed any of the 6 months, do it and resubmit. I can't believe your surgeon's office even submitted your paperwork if you had not yet met all of the requirements. What ever you do, don't give up!!! jbperry21 1 Posted May 20, 2008 My dr office submitted early because my work stopped covering WLS and I was denied because I didn't have 6 months. Without going into all the details, I finished the 6 months, submitted and was approved.
myturn0421 0 Posted May 20, 2008 It happened to me too! A fellow employee and I where both on Weight Watchers for over a year, we both submitted our paper work and she got approved on WW history and I didn't. When I tried to fight it, it was because her PCP had noted in her chart that she was on WW at all her visits during the year (not consecutive) but mine didn't. She didn't write it anywhere in my chart thatI was on WW, even though we had discussed it. Oh well, I have to finish out the rest of my six months - 4 more to go, then I'll re-submit. My co-worker has already had surgery and lost nearly 30lbs!!
trish2001 0 Posted May 25, 2008 Bluecross Blueshield of california did the exact same thing to me. So, I did Weight Watchers. They considered this as a supervised diet plan.I just completed the 6months. I meet the surgeon, behavorist, and nutritionist in june. So don't give up.
