Okay,

I got online tonight and saw a message stating that I hadn't done any new posts in 30 days and that I must be getting shy. So here it is my new post. I haven't seen any new posts to respond to. So here is a new one. I am at a bit of a standstill right now. I am struck at 60lbs lost. Going for a fill on June 5. Can't wait. Calling dr. office weekly to see if they have had a cancellation.

Hope this post finds everyone loosing and healthy. Talk to you Merry Loosers soon.

I am at 60 pounds too. How much can you eat of solid food and not have to bring it up. I have had only 3 fills and the last time I had some taken out. I still do a lot of vomiting. Any suggestions.

I haven't done any vomiting. I have had 3 or 4 fills. I still can eat solids without any problmems. Ocassionally I have trouble sometimes in the morning. Mostly I don't have any trouble I am filled 7.2 in a 10 cc band.

If your throwing up you need to chew more or eat slower.

You shouldnt be throwing up all the time.

I have had 3 fills and 1 unfill for a total of 4cc left in my 10cc band and I am still having a hard time keeping food down with anything other than soft foods and liquids. It was better for about 5 days after my unfill but now it is getting hard again to eat food. I really think I am chewing and eating slow enough but maybe not??? I have never been able to eat like I did before surgery. I think I may need to have another unfill.

I would love for somebody to do a poll on how much and how many fills people have when they reach there "sweet spot"!!!

Hi Lisamarie-

I have had issues w/vomitting too. I've found that even if I eat slowly and chew REALLY well, *I* still need to be very careful. Some foods I just CAN NOT handle. eggs, bread (even toasted well), red meat etc. I am currently @ 6cc's in a 14cc band. My last fill was just a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if it's possible, but if it is- feel free to send me a message "offline". It looks like we face a lot of the same issues.

Be well,

Connie

my biggest no no foods are Rice and bread and have thrown up quite a few times but it is my own fault my band told me to stop eating but I had to have one more bite lol. I faught the band and the band won :-).

I am going to ask at the next meeting what to do, I have lost approx 50pds. I can't eat hardly anything until 5pm then I eat everything so do I get another fill? I have only gained once in 6months and that was only a pd one wk lost 1.5 the next so I am loosing what they say I should be loosing so I don't think my dr. would give me another fill anyway. Evenings are still a fight everynight of my life.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
