She's so not nice...

Recommended Posts

I really need to go back to the doctor but they don't let you see the doctor (sugeon) you only get to see his PA who is not nice. And NO I don't expect to be babied, I am an adult and can accept the consequences of my actions... BUT I also don't appreciate that snarling attitude, you know the one some medical professionals have... You're a fat slob with no self control"

So, here I am procrastinating and not calling and really wanting help but not wanting to suck it up and make an appointment with the MEAN Lady who has no sympathy for FAT people.

All I am really asking for is support. Yeah, I've likely screwed up, but I have also lost 120 lbs! We all stumble sometimes. I just want to be able to go in and say, hey, what can we do about this and let's do it. I will try to follow the rules better if you will be NICE to me!

I really feel like they put the band in and said there ya go! Have a nice day.

Anyway... Tomorrow I am going to suck it up and call. I am going to try really hard to get the see the doctor.

Thanks for letting me vent!

OMG 120 pounds??? You go!!! That is something to be VERY proud of and obviously you have been doing something right! You don't have to put up with that negative attitude from ANYONE. Call the office and tell them you would like to make an appointment with anyone but ( Person's name here) Let it be known that her bed side manner leaves much to be desired! Why should you put off YOUR health and well being because you don't want to subject yourself to someone else's rudeness? ( someone that YOU pay btw) I bet if you speak up you will find you are not the only person who has been treated this way  Good-luck to you! :)

I am sorry you are being treated badly.

I know it can be very hard, but I always try to talk with someone who I feel is treating me badly or might have a problem with me. I tell my kids too, someone can't fix something if they don't know there is a problem.

When I do address something, I try to use tactics that will hopefully not put them on the defensive. I might say something like, "I am sorry if I have done something to hurt you" or "It seems like we may have gotten off on the wrong foot" - to start out the conversation.

It might take the edge off and make it easier to address the concerns you have with how you are being treated. (But again, I do think we have the responsibility to try to let someone know how we are feeling before we go to another party.)

If that doesn't work, you should certainly address your concerns with the doctor and office. I have written a letter to a doctor in the past. You know they are a caring staff when they get back to you personally to address your concerns.

Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
