Central Ont Bandster Lunch get-together???

Recommended Posts

Hello Bandster Friends;

I tried to post this on the TLBC message board but had no luck... so here goes.

ANYONE banded (or soon to be) that would like to get together for a Lunch/Support get-to-gether ???? Please POST here or PM me for my phone number...

I am thinking of all of us folks NORTH of the GTA... Owen Sound, Midland, Barrie, Orillia, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Alliston..... yada,yada.. you get the idea..

Anyways, I have gone to several luncheons in Toronto and met some fabulous folks... but it's one heck of a drive...

So I was thinking of meeting mid-way point either Barrie or Orillia....

Come back to me folks.

Peaches:tt2:

If it was a bit more north I'd consider it but I'm still 4 hours from Orillia. I usually organize one in North Bay twice a year so if anyone closer to North Bay area is interested, I'll be posting once we set a date. It will most likely be July since I'm having surgery in 2 weeks.

Sorry Fousilly, that its 4 hrs for you.... let me wait and see who else responds.... ( I myself am 1 hour from Orillia) perhaps something else might work out..

Keep checking this THREAD:thumbup:

I'll keep checking peaches. We have quite a few near North Bay now so that's why we pick there. Up to 12 or so now I think so it's always a good size turnout.

That is a great turn out!!! If darn gas wasn't such a premium right now, I may even try to drop in on your North Bay lunch bunch sometime.

Peaches I PM'd you and said that date would suck for me. I don't mind driving more north. I am in Haliburton, maybe 1 & 1/2 hour drive to north bay.maybe change venues and see what happens.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
