Hi my name is Crystal and I am from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. i recently was banded on the 1st of May. I had my surgery at St. Agnes Hospital with Dr. Averbach as my Surgeon. I was looking for a blog area so that I could get support from all those who have been there done that. Last night I had my first scare. I had been doing fine, no nausea, no vomitting, no real issues, until.......... all of a sudden I had an issue with acid reflux. It wouldn't go away and it had done enough damage to make my throat sore and scratchy. I then began to feel very uneasy with a burning sensation that went all the way around my chest area to my back shoulders. I felt dizzy and slightly queazy. I tried everything to calm my anxiety of a slipped band. This morning didn't get much better. I slowly sipped on Water, but the uneasiness came back, so I called my Dr. He didn't seem too concerned but told me that if it got worse, fever, pain, etc.... I should go to the ER for evaluation. I went to your blog area and found that maybe I could try Prilosec, and Mylanta. Feeling slightly better (not as anxoius) Still a little queazy, severe case of burning diarhea. At my Dr.'s request I have gone back to a completely liquid diet. I had just recently gone to smushie foods, like egg or runny tuna, creamy Soups. Hoping that it never happens again. It was a very unpleasant feeling. As of today I have lost 20lbs. I topped the scales at 269 before surgery and now weigh 248. I am about 5'9". Really haven't dealt with too many hunger issues, feel full, stop eating, drink plenty of fluids. Having some trouble with Constipation one day, diarhea the next. Any suggestions? Since I live 2 1/2 hours away from my Dr. I do not have a support group, hoping to make a few new friends, learn more about my surgery and myself. Looking forward to everyone's suggestions.

Hi Crystal and welcome to LBT! I am in the same position as you with the support group thing and this is a great substitute. Glad you are feeling better after your little scare. I am still pre-op, so no advice, just wanted to say hi and welcome. Good luck!
