Sarah8714 2 Posted May 17, 2008 I just called in my prescription for a refill of my Lortab elixir! I cant believe the pain is so bad. It is more pain than gas. The 1st day was terrible, I thought it was awful. Friday was a little better but still very sore plus I was in a car wreck on Monday and still sore from that. My 21month old wants me to pick him up and play which is hard not to do. Luckily, DH is very supportive and attentive to him. I just had my 1st full liquid! I wanted my Protein shake.... I love them :woot: I am scheduled to go back to work on Tuesday?? I dont know about that one... I get to do dressing care today and take a shower! Simple joys
88KEYZ 0 Posted May 18, 2008 You are going to be great! The gas pain was horrible for me too, my left shoulder was the biggest pain I had. Finally after 2 - 3 weeks it let up. Some have more than others, that is from the CO2 they use in the surgery to blow the stomach up. Go by the rules, you will be good in no time at all.

Sarah8714 2 Posted May 18, 2008 Thanks for the replies. I actually went out for a few hours yesterday to DH company picnic. It wasnt so hard not to eat but standing around and not picking up Andy was the hardest. Today he wants to venture out to Toys R Us for a baby pool. Had a lot of gas last night too. Still no BM since the bowel prep for surgery, is that common??
KristeyK 8 Posted May 18, 2008 The bariatric coordinator told me to not expect a BM for several days following surgery, and even then it wouldn't be solid. Hope this helps!
