Question about mushies.

Recommended Posts

Ok, from the liquid stage to the mushy stage, is it normal to gain back a few pounds of lost weight? I figure it should be due to increasing your calories just a bit..heres what happened..

I was on liquids for a week and a half..lost 20 pounds. Went to mushies, and gained 2 pounds...is this normal? Perhaps im not watching the caloric intake as well as I should be. Ive only been on mushies for a weekend..but it scares me that Ive gained back 2 pounds. eep!

If you are eating mushies that contain salt, you may just be retaining Water. Fluctuating up and down several pounds is totally normal. Once you introduce food back into your system, it's not constantly being flushed out by all the liquids. You are doing amazing though, so don't worry about a little fluctuation because those couple pounds might be gone by tomorrow. This is one reason why many of us only weigh once a week. I personally weigh every single day but I only log my weight down on the date of my band anniversary. Good job!

Thank you delarla =)

You explained it perfectly. Makes sence. I think I was just jumping the gun and apparently worrying for nothing. I weigh daily as well so.. x.x might be a good idea for me to stay away from the scales for awhile.

Kendra, as DeLarla said it is absolutely normal to rebound a little when you go off the liquid diet and add more calories and bulk to your menu. Not to worry. And if it disturbs you then yes, you might want to steer clear of the scale for a little while.

I'm one who weighs every day and find the results instructive rather than depressing. If I limited my weighing to only once a week or so I'd obsess about it much more, and be sad if the scale didn't move at least the 1-2 lbs everyone says is "average." Weighing daily I've become familiar with my body's patterns and the way I react to various changes in behavior. And over time my loss has indeed been at the average pace, with periods of faster and many periods of slower loss during the trip.

Yes alex, I feel the same way. The main thing behind the weighing every day, is to figure out things that really effect my body. I figure if I keep checking, I can look back to the previous day (or few days) and see what I changed, and what could be the culprit.

I don't know what I would do without you all. Thanks again!!
