What is your average weekly loss?

Recommended Posts

March Bandsters- what is your average losses per week? Are you losing 1-2 lbs per week like the lab band literature says? are your losses greater?? I know we are all different and will lose at different rates but I just want to get an idea how I am doing.

My dr. didn't fill me last appt since I am losing 2 lbs a week, but now I am starting to eat more often...starting to snack and for the first month I was never snacking...I am trying to determine if it's head hunger or real hunger...so hard when you have years of eating for no real reason! Maybe now I am needing a fill..my next appt. is on the 29th.

I'm a Jan08 bandster and I've slowed to 1/2 to 1 pound a week. I think it's largely due to the fact that I don't exercise enough and I have also started to snack. I've had graduations, birthdays, and other countless celebrations lately to offer me opportunity for overeating.

I started back on track yesterday and already feel better!

Good luck with your fill.

Looking at my fitday graph, it shows an average of 2.4 pounds a week. I'm enjoying that while it lasts, I know it may slow down.

wow guys, that is great! I was banded March 12th and had lost 30lbs before my first fill on April 29th. Since that fill I have only lost another pound! I know that the last few weeks I have gotten away from tracking on fitday, so I am sure that is partly to blame. I am going to really try to get another few pounds off before my second fill on May 29th!

Since surgery I have lost an average of 1.83 pounds per week. Doing okay but know that I can make better choices!

I am losing about 2 lbs per week. The first couple of weeks after being banded it was more like 5 a week. I have had 1 fill and go for the 2nd on June 3rd. I've not been able to get all of my walking in this nor last week (my daughter has lots of end of school year activies). I will try to get back on the walking track as soon as I can to help my losing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
