So each day here seems to be improving. My headaches have subsided--yeah! And not much more vomiting....weird last night in the middle of the night i felt the slime and had the urge to throw up, but when I got to the bathroom and just spit up the saliva it passed--i know it sounds gross, but i am sure you all can relate.

What I need is suggestions!!! I am on liquids and I am siping water...sugar free drinks don't taste right to me right now. I am also doing sugar free ice pops and fudge pops! But that is not much of a variety...any suggestions?

I'm sure others may have more to add, as I'm very new to this (Banded only 7 days ago). But, my menu currently consists of Slim-Fast Lo-Carb, sugar free Jello pudding, Yoplait Light Thick and Creamy Yogurt, Yogurt smoothies, Campbell's Cream of whatever Soups, Campbell's Soup at hand in the creamy Tomato, creamy chicken, and cream of broccoli. My best friend eats Cream of Potato soup and clam chowder, daily(both with all chunks smashed to oblivion). I'll post anything else I think of. Hope that helps.

Hi Canhardlywait

After my surgery I wanted liquids that I made at home you know just to avoid preservatives, so I squeezed fresh fruits.

Also my favourite Soup was cream of vegetables. basically

you boil -1 potato 1 onion 1 carrot and watever other vegetables you like- in approximately 1 liter, when they start to boil you add 1 cube of your favourite stock. (make sure you dont put too much water.)

when all the vegies are tender, put everything in the blender and mix it until it looks like baby food.

then you take how much you want to have and add milk stir it well it has a creamy vegetable taste to it. I was told to add 1 cup of milk to 1 cup of soup, but you can do watever you want. Add salt depending on taste.

I lived on this soup for a while because I had complications I added vegetables like spinach, zucchini, garlic, ofcorse not all at once.

You can freeze it and defrost it later it was a great backup for me.

Good luck

I was banded on Wednesday May 14 and am still on clear liquids. I have been sipping on Iced Tea Decaf and sweetened with splenda, fruit juice watered down with H2O, crystal light. I have also been drinking my Protein Shakes. Today I get to start full liquids. I can't wait to have some yougourt and pudding. My mom made me some sugar/fat free pistacho pudding and she added a scoop of the Unjury 0 flavor powder and I can't wait to try this. I want to eat just for the sake of eating but am not HUNGRY. I am very excited to go to my post op appt so my MD can advance my diet to puree! I never thought I would be so thrilled to eat "Baby" food!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
