I was able to do some of the things on days I was going to be off work anyway. For example, the case management appointment with the nurse (to go over final details) was on election day, and my office was closed that day. I have had to be off a couple other days, but I have really great bosses, and they allow me to set my own schedule if I need to be off. I can schedule appointments with clients for after office hours, and then leave early (or come in late) on other days. Is there anyway you can rearrange your schedule, and then use comp time to be off for appointments?

I was just thinking about this tonight! I have been lucky soo far as I was not working and have only just started working 5-11pm. It seems now that I have to have and Upper Endoscopy (per surgeon) I will have to ask for a day off. I am not wanting to since I am new and will soon be asking for time off for surgery, but hey I just keep telling myself that it is all worth it. Like previous posts there were many docs willing to schedule on the same day which makes it so much easier. Good luck! Tamara

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
