Hello Everyone. I am new to the boards and I am new to the lap band system. I have seen the commericials, and seen the success stories, and yesterday i took the first step and set up a group consult along with a one-on-one.

I am scared to get excited. Because nothing ever seems to go right in my life, so I have doubts I will be approved.

My insurance says I have to have a documented history of 5 years obesity, I just don't know if I have the history.

I am 21 with a BMI of nearly 50. How outrageous is that. I have been overweight my whole life and I am tired of. I am tired of being the fattest girl in the group. Today is my 22nd birthday, and I need change! Nothing else has seemed to work, so I think this is my final option.

Anyways, lets pray I can be approved. For the sake of my son! Thanks Everyone and I am looking forward to being a loser! lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I pray everything goes right for you. I was banded Tuesday. The best decision I have ever made. (other than being saved) I to have been fat all my life. Kids are horrible in school. I haven't been to a single class reunion because of all of the bad memories. But I will attend the next reunion and forgive ignorances. Just keep faith that you will be approved.:cry_smile:

Get excitied!! You are making the first step to making the biggest change in your life! I was banded Monday and while these past 4 days have been a bit of a rollercoaster, as each day passes I am happier I did this!

I have been carrying an extra 110 lbs. for the past eight years after my kids and I just had to do something! You are making a great choice and while maybe things don't always seem to work out for you, put your faith in the Lord and he will lead you on this journey! Stick with it!! Best of luck!!
