Jen020408 0 Posted May 14, 2008 I had my lapband since 2-4-08, I had my first fill on 3-27-08. I had 2 ccs put in. I had some restriction at the beginning but now it seems that I can eat alot. I was wondering if it is too soon to have my second fill yet? Or is it time for another one? Is it normal to need two fills so close together?
*susan* 1,709 Posted May 14, 2008 If you are able to eat a lot, and find yourself getting hungry between meals, then yes, you probably need another fill. There isn't really a set time table for getting them, it is very much an individual thing.
juliegeraci 7 Posted May 14, 2008 My doctor recommends a fill 2 weeks apart. You are ready.
OhioGirl 0 Posted May 14, 2008 I was banded on 3/4/08 and I have had 3 fills since then. First 3 cc, then 2 more of 1cc each. Finally at my sweet spot. 9 lbs. lost in the last 2 weeks. I would say you are probably ready for a fill.
mamato3 1 Posted May 14, 2008 I really dont think there is a set time frame for between fills. How is your weight loss? Are you still losing eating the larger amount? It is such an individual thing. I saw the NP in my surgeons office the other day and was sort of lectured for thinking I needed to wait. I had lost 6 pounds in 4 weeks but have been working really hard at it. They said if I am hungry 2 weeks after a fill.... CALL. Why struggle?
sharona 2 Posted May 15, 2008 :confused_smile:I agree, my doctor also says it is an individual thing. I had a fill two weeks ago now at 3.5 cc in 10 cc band and have another scheduled for this friday. I had a regular dinner tonight and don't feel that full. Roast pork, mashed potatoes, string Beans two rolls and two small petit fours...shouldn't be able to eat that much. She's right why suffer, this is supposed to help us control our intake. I still am struggling with eating slower but still I can eat far too much and have my stomach growling all day long.
