12 Days Until Banded

Recommended Posts

Trish hang in there. I'm going through the same thing and I have doubts some days and some days can't wait to get it done. My husband is also supportive . My date is April 21 so I'll keep you posted. Take care.

Trish - everything you are going through is normal! If you didn't have those feelings, then I would be worried about you! :laugh

Your surgery will be here before you know it. I think it is much harder when you have to wait so long for it to get here. Before you know it you will be in lapband, giving someone else advice! :laugh :laugh

Well I feel GREAT today... I had my pre-op and feel loads better. Dr. Smith and Cameron were just to to kind to me. Cameron sat there and answered every crazy question I had to detail. and Dr. Smith smiling the whole time let me know that he has not heard of much pain from any of his paitents and that I am going to do wonderful. So I am getting excited... and Thursday I start my liquid diet.. ugh! lol

Trish, we can do this together! same emotions, and banding on the same day. It is good to know I'm not alone in those feelings.

We will look back on this in a few months and laugh at how crazy we were! Last day for food for awhile is Tuesday. Having a party with friends from work. Then drink, drink, drink.

Keep in touch Trish and we can support each other!!! YOU GO SISTA!

Trish,

You time is on countdown. It will be no time before you come over to Bandland. This is an exciting time for you. Enjoy it and take it slow. Remember someone in your past probably telling you about good things comes to those that wait. And believe me the wait is worth it. Take care.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
