gingercat 1 Posted May 13, 2008 This is my 15th Day with the Lap Band & allowed Mushies as of today  Have had a small amount of scrambled egg & some cottage cheese and a small yoghurt - Can anyone suggest more mushie food ideas for the next 3 weeks? As a bit clueless i'm afraid....:confused2: Lost 20lbs so far - Love my band  Gingercat
stI24nger 1 Posted May 13, 2008 Scrambled eggs???? Whoa, baby! They are STILL on my no-no list! I get stuck on them every time! Anyway...didn't your doc give you a list? Here are some good mushies: -boxed mashed potatoes (add cheese for protein) -canned refried Beans (I like to melt cheese and put guacamole and sour cream on mine--but then again, I am a Texan!) -"cream of" whatever soups--run them through the blender to get any chunks out -Protein shakes (I like the EAS Carb Control in chocolate Fudge and Rich Dark Chocolate) That's all I can think of...I would call the doc if I were you though--all docs have their own post-op restrictions.... erikadawn 0 Posted May 13, 2008 My favorite tuna fish and saltine crackers, crackers turn to mush when you chew. I also broke up the crackers in tuna fish.

2BtinyinTN 1 Posted May 14, 2008 hi gingercat! I started on pureed/mushies yesterday and I can have scrambled eggs. I did just fine with them. I have also had refried Beans, cream Soups, and oatmeal...the soupy way. Good luck to you.
willsmommy 2 Posted May 14, 2008 I am allowed to have mushies in 14 days too!! I dont understand that differance in the diets!! There is such a variance on the site. Some people get down right testy about it too!! I had one guy just all but call me an idiot when I thinned some mashed potatos on day 4. I had no problem. It was no thicker than my Protein shake!! OpenHrtOpenMind 1 Posted May 14, 2008 If I've learned anything, so far, it's certainly that everyone is so very different as are our bodies after banding. I myself, expected to not be hungry at all at least until day 7 or so, but have found that I'm healing well, & my Dr okay'd me to move on to some cottage cheese & "pureed" egg salad (whole eggs, bit of FF mayo & mustard). I tolerated these well. I think there are no really defined lists for anyone & that we just have to work with our Dr.s & re-learn how to listen to our bodies. As my Dr said, "if you're getting in enough liquids (64 oz +), enough Protein (50-60g) & then you're still maybe hungry.. it's time to move to the next food phase...don't be ruled by guidelines - be ruled by your body (& a quick check in with me of course)" Gave me the reassurance to trust myself a bit here & do what's right for me....don't let other make you feel badly for what you are doing for you :tongue2:
