proud-dad 0 Posted May 13, 2008 I am having severe pain on my left side. In three different spots. I had my surgery done 19 days ago and I started to have pain in my stomach about 4 inches to the left of my belly button last night. Right now, I am having a severe sharp pain on the left side of my stomach about half way down. And every now and then today, I have got the same kind of pain in my left colar bone area. Any ideas what this might be. I called my doctor and they scheduled me for a upper GI tomorrow morning. But if this pain gets any worse, I might be at the emergency room tonight. proud-dad 0 Posted May 13, 2008 The Upper GI came out good. They said that everything was doing what it was supposed to be doing. They said that the only thing they thought would be causing the pain in my shoulder and stomach is trapped gas. I don't know what it is, but it sure hurts really bad. It was kind of neat to see the band and everything on the x ray machine while I was drinking the barium.
Long2BFree 12 Posted May 13, 2008 Well, it is good to know that you are okay except for the pain. Hopefully that will go away soon. A lot of people say that walking A LOT helps it to go away. I sure hope I don't experience this bad pain when I get banded.
RicksWife 0 Posted May 14, 2008 The pain that you are feeling if caused by a nerve that is actually located near the banding location but radiates in the left shoulder area... I am going on my 5th year living with the band. Lay on your left side and let the gas pass. You will have instant relief...I've been there SEVERAL times.
