If you are going at regular intervals, like every three days, and you are not uncomfortable than I'd not worry about it.

My doctor asked me and I said I was about every 48 to 72 hours (2 to 3 days) and he said that was fine.

Hope that helps.

Same here -- about once every 3 days when I'm eating 1000-1200 cals a day. I'd rather it were more often, but right now I'm not sure where I'd add more Fiber in without doing something like Metamucil. (yuck)

Now I use to be the one that went to the bathroom 3 to 4 times a day, since I've started eating right and the smaller portions, I'm lucky if I go once a day. I think I do go at least once a day or every other day but I don't have a lot of waste. I did purchase some fiber powder and after sitting and thinking about my bowel movements I probably should be taking some. I'm scared that it might make me have to go while I'm at work and I don't want to do that. What time of day should I take it?

On the weekend until you see how quickly it gets you moving.

I can't stand that powder stuff...I found something much better! It's a chewable tablet called Fiber Choice and it comes in a yummy orange flavor. Eat 2 tablets a day for 8g of pure cellulose fiber. I reccommend starting with one a day as they can cause a lot of gas in the beginning. Really helps keep me regular!!

I find sometimes its every day but often its only every second day. That's not a problem as long as you're not in discomfort (bloated, windy) and its not hard and difficult to pass. You eat less so less comes out.

I used to be in nursing and I was taught that it's a myth that you HAVE to go everyday. Many people do, but if you don't it's ok. As long as you go every 3 to 4 days (like everyone else has said) you're fine.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
