justicenyce 0 Posted May 12, 2008 :smile2: Hi all, I just met with Dr Kurian at NYU and they are conducting a omenectumy study where they take out some belly fat or Omen (Im not quite sure) and it sounded interesting. Its supposed to help with insulin resistance. Has anyone heard of this or had the procedure done i really appreciate your thoughts Thanks

Turler 6 Posted May 12, 2008 I've not heard of this procedure. I'm assuming you're talking about the omentum. It is a layer of fat that protects your organs. Some people have a lot and some a little. Maybe they are talking about reducing it during surgery???? I don't know either. I'd like to hear more about it as you get more informed! ~C
