willsmommy 2 Posted May 11, 2008 I am having this pain right where my stomach is. When I feel like I am about to burp, the air almost comes up then gets stuck about half way up. Has anyone else taken the Viactive chewables? ? They are like a tootsie roll!! I think that may be some of my problem with pain, but in my book it says that I can have it!! I am having that same, rolling, stuck-halfway gas. Occassionally, it seems to come up though. I love the Viactive, but I am holding off on them until next week when I can have mushies. For now, just the sublingual B12, chewable Multivitamin. Next week, I'll be back on the Calcium.
kamicola 1 Posted May 11, 2008 That's really good to know about the calcium chews as I will be having surgery on 5/27/08 and take those currently... thanks for the warning.... Kammi in Everett, WA
stefgray 0 Posted May 11, 2008 Better check with your nutritionist on the Viactiv. I used to take them, too. But, the Viactive chewable Calcium contains calcium carbonate. Everything I've read here and my own nutritionist says carbonate is not right for us - we need calcium citrate. Citracal is good for that as is a chewable from Bariatric Advantage (online). I much prefer a creamy chewable, but would rather have something that's tolerable and gives me the right nutrition. Also, Viactiv Multivitamins are not the best for us as they don't contain somthing...I think it's Thiamine. Best to get all of your nutrition from someplace that understands bariatric patients.
