You could look up your bmi and find out how much weight you would need to gain to reach a bmi of 40. Insurance companies are awful. It might be worthwhile to gain a few pounds so that you can be insured. I know that sounds crazy but it is ridiculous to be denied with a bmi of 38. Good luck

I agree with checking your BMI. Are you sure that you are as tall as you say that you are? Seriously.

When is the last time that you had your height measured, hey, it's a long shot but it's worth it.

The guidelines , as I understand it, are set by the manufacturers of the band. It's doubtful that an insurance company would pay for a procedure that the manufacturer does not recommend. That's why so many 'lightweights' go to Mexico for their surgery and pay for it out of pocket.

My doctor had my height at 5'9"- I must've been measured with my shoes on. I got it corrected to my real height- 5' 71/2" and that made ALL the difference in my BMI

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
