Does anyone ever feel that maybe this wont work and maybe it wasnt the right idea? I've had a rough day with pain and all the sudden had doubts - inside I know its the right thing but how do you stay motivated?

In the beginning of exploring the idea of getting banded I had many doubts that I would fail one more time. Now that I'm so close to getting banded I know that I will lose the weight. I have to because my health is at risk.

Plan each day and stick with it! You deserve to be healthy and look great!

I was just banded on the 29th, and yes I do think sometimes was this the right thing to do and will it work for me. All I can say is I'm doing my best to make it work and I really hope I don't regret it. Thats for sure not to say that I haven't already messed up, but I have to have hope that after a while I will see more results and be alot more confident about my decsion. whats done is done and I'm working my tool as best I can today.

I think that all the time... less and less now as time passes. I think it's completely normal to doubt the band and yourself. Sometimes when I get on the scale and I haven't lost as much as I wanted or thought I should I thought, man, I've failed again, the band failed me... blah blah blah.

Just get past those moments. The first few weeks are the hardest. I'm just now getting to a point of normalcy...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
