How much are you eating? Does mine seem normal????

Recommended Posts

I was banded 4/23 and I am on soft foods right now, I can usually eat a packet of oatmeal for Breakfast, small denny moore stew (5 oz) for dinner and about 5-7oz for supper and a cup of my Protein Shake 3 times a day. Is this about what you are getting in? More Less????? I just wanted to double check to see about where I am with everyone else

I was banded the same day as you & I'm eating the same Breakfast, usually 3-4 oz of cottage cheese & applesause for lunch, & about 4oz of refried Beans with lowfat cheese & 3-4oz of cooked carrots for dinner. For snack I have a Protein Shake with yogart & maybe some SF Jello. Just curious what is denny moore stew?

You sound a little high to me. Breakfast seems ok, but lunch and dinner seem like you should be at 3-4 oz,, I would also ck the fat content and carb level on the stew. I havn't read a can since i was a kid, but you dont want to be getting to much fat or too high carb. You want some carbs, but right now your Protein is first. Check with your Dr and nutritionist. You probably need to cut back a little. Right now you are still healing even though you may feel great, you need to let your insides heal real well so your port and band stay in place. Don't over do it. But definately follow your Dr instructions, they are all different.

i was banded on the 17th and told that no meal should exceed 4 oz. Snacks should not exceed 2oz (according to my doc).

a typical day for me (today i started soft solids) is:

b: Protein shake with skim.

l: 3 oz of tuna salad

s: 1 oz of part skim string cheese

d: i'm going to Bonefish Grill and will order grilled fish with some sauce. I will have them weight it and i'll measure out 4 oz

I'm hungry some days..i just fight through it and over time i've been getting used to the portion sizes.

Everyone is different. I can eat anywhere from 4-8 oz at a time depending what it is that I'm eating. More liquid goes down faster so I can eat more. Now something like mashed potatoes I can't eat more than about 4 oz of before I feel full.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
