Anthem BC/BS-BMI requirement?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if Anthem BC/BS has a BMI requirement?

Does anyone get approved with a BMI of 32.5 with complicating conditions? I have diabetes, sleep apnea, hypertension, high cholesteral, high triglycerides and leaking heart valves

I dont know the specifics of Anthem BCBS now. However, I had this insurance before and I remember that you had to have a BMI of at least 35 with complications or 40 without.

You should definitely give them a call. Best of luck to you.

I have Anthem Blue Access and their requirements were a BMI of 35 and 2 or more qualifying health issues.

I had bmi of 39 with high BP and High Cholesterol

I was approved quickly - within a week.

I have BCBS of Minnesota and they cover BMI under 40 as long as you have comorbities which you do. Call them they will be upfront.

I have Anthem and it does day 35 with 2 or more co-morbidities, but it wouldn't hurt to call and get a copy of your policy jsut to be sure. Every plan is different.

Good luck!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
